  1. I want to be the president of that Smartazz club. Sounds like fun to me and I know you are not slumming it with those Danley subs and all that high end camera gear and i still enjoy my Forte 1s with Dave As lmahl tweeters. so far in first two years no problems with the PL except one tube that blew. Upscale had a replacement the next day and now I have extras just in case.
  2. Even if it’s just in your mind if you think something sounds better to you then it does. I thought my McIntosh hybrid integrated sounded better than my Yamaha AVR. When I traded my MA 252 for my Primaluna pure tube integrated I thought it sounded much better to me. Maybe it does and maybe it doesn’t. My wife can’t tell the difference. Doesn’t matter to me if it’s real or not because it’s real to me.
  3. Yes - Saying something sounds analog is STUPID but then again you get the idea. Records are physical grooves with a cartridge that transmits the sound via a preamp and that is not digital. Therefor its safe to say it is probably more analog than digital. To be more accurate I should have said that my system with my streamer and DAC sound less DIGITAL than most I have heard and remind me of a turntable setup that is more of an analog source than a CD player or most streamers that are from sourced from a digital signal. Don't make me humiliate you again Claude!!!! lmao
  4. I love my Forte IVs and I listen to a lot of rock music classic and otherwise. They literally ROCK!
  5. Nobody mentioned Vettes! But here is my C7 Grand Sport at one of my favorite beaches since you mentioned Vettes - I threw out the crappy Bose system an replaced it with a great sounding audio system with an Arc Class D Amp with DSP, Diamond componet Separate Speakers, a JL AUDIO sub. It just adds so much driving enjoyment when I am not listening to the exhaust. A technician from ARC Audio came to my installers shop and dialed the system in with his laptop! Hoooyah
  6. Leave it to the Klipsch forum to have someone ask a question about specific speakers and the answers be everything under the sun not related to speakers or even audio. Impressions about Forte IV speakers? Hmmm? answer- Rolex, Porsche, VW, tshirts, Alfa, electric cars, long lenses, etc etc, etc 😷
  7. My Forte 1s were light oak and still look brand new after 40 years of use by my father and me. I bought my IVs in cherry and also paid more to get a pair lambswool grills for them. When I received them they were very light in color but within a couple of weeks they turned much darker. My wife and I love them in our living room. Stunning!
  8. Dave As mahl tweeters are awesome. I have a set of lmahl tweeters in my Forte 1s and installed a pair of smahls when I converted my Heresys to Super Heresys and they’re sound fantastic.

    Very cool as number 0001
  11. Beautiful veneer job and I love those in cherry
  12. I have a large 15” HSU Sub I have used for over 5 years with my Forte 1s and now with my Forte IVs and it is a great sub. Blends perfectly with all my Fortes and has very deep powerful bass if it exists in a recording. I know many people don’t like integrating subs into their two channel setups but the bottom octaves the HSU Sub adds to the Fortes makes their mid bass much more pleasing to my ears. I feel it takes a great sounding speaker system to a much higher level of enjoyment. thumbs up to HSU!
  13. More trivia that chicks dig hearing about on their first dates with Claude’. Almost as good as oysters😼
  14. You my friend are easy to poke and my family chastises me forever poke poke poke lol love the different of those long lenses
  15. Great deal on those gorgeous Cornwalls - they should sell fast to some lucky buyer.
  16. I completely agree with you about Kevin. He is very passionate about many things and doesn’t hold back in sharing his excitement. I have read things on the Internet that speak negative about him and that was not my experience. Being around him you can feel he just wants to share his positive experiences. He did not try and sell me or upsell me in any way. No selling at all or talking crap about products they don’t sell at Upscale. The service at Upscale has been stellar as was the service Cory gave me at Paducah. So much chatter on the Internet sounds more like envy rather than people’s actual personal experiences.over the last 40 plus years neither myself nor anyone in my family has ever had a bad experience buying gear thru authorized Klipsch dealers.
  17. Kevin is actually a very passionate person that shares the same interests most of the members here on this forum do- great sounding music. I enjoyed sitting with him in his sound room listening to music and playing with some of Upscales great gear. Fun day for sure and a few days later I traded in my MA252 integrated for my EVO 400 and have enjoyed it for the past two years.
  18. Yes my wife loves the Fortes and thought the Cornwalls looked good too but gave a big thumbs down when I told her they would intrude into the openings even ever so slightly between the dining room, kitchen and listening room. When the Bill for the Fortes came in she surprised me and used one of her work bonuses and paid for them. Free MWM cabinets sound very sweet!
  19. Macho macho macho man. Love those long lenses and if I had a big house I’d have some Jubes and Danley Subs 😎 but I don’t have a big house so those crappy tiny distorted Forte IVs with no micro details, no bass and zero transient response will have to do. I also want a 400mm f 2.8 to shoot my favorite cats and dogs.
  20. Oh hell yes I had a similar one amongst many I had. I loved that radio
  21. I know you had been thru a lot of speakers before settling in on your JBLs and I’m sure those sound exceptional. It is awesome when you find a sound that draws you to listen to music and I know when I wake up and come downstairs the first thing I do is flip the switch on my amp. Can’t get enough of the joy music brings. I have enjoyed music my entire life even listening to my transistor radio as a young child. I still enjoy most of that music I grew up with. I do not know if I get more enjoyment from the music I love just because of the gear I own now. I have just learned that there was music I was not hearing on that am/fm radio with the tiny speaker in my handheld radio.
  22. That should make those Forte IVs sound even more incredible. I read some reviews of the IVs and they all said they sound like crap with crap music and I’m guessing they don’t sound good with overly bright amplification or bottom end weakness. Feed them great tunes thru a nice analog or digital source and it’s extremely enjoyable.
  23. Very nice review and introduction to the Alan Eaton brand. I wonder how these amps compare to Dennis Hadd hand built amps?
  24. The Denefrips Dacs are R2R ladder dacs and they are very highly rated and my Pontus has changed the way I listen to music. I’m an analog vinyl person but the Pontus is so close to my analog sound it is a game changer. Takes the Node 2i to a higher level.
