  1. Ah, the St. Louis La Scala connection. Those are beautiful. I would listen to them as-is for a long time before changing anything. Let us know how they look in person. That Adcom amp is pretty sweet, too. That’s a Nelson Pass design.
  2. To be clear, what are you selling? One or a pair for $50?
  3. I think that is a good deal. South County too.
  4. Looks like someone added thick trim.
  5. I’ve never seen front veneer like that before.
  6. You could upgrade.... what do you want for your 77’s?

  8. Yep, the Modulus series is solid-state. His stereo tube amp is the novar spud. It does ultra-linear or triode operation, with output power ranging from 2.3W to 5.5W per channel depending on tubes chosen and configuration. You can build it from $200 to $300.
  9. My Dad. WWII and Korean conflict.
  10. You say those crossovers are type AA but I'd say those are definitely not Type AA crossovers. No magnetics? No zeners? Two 1/4" jacks?
  11. Anybody driving to St. Louis from that direction? Asking for a friend, everyone knows I don't need more speakers, LOL. Also, how do the updated mids and woofers stack up against K-55 and K-33?
  12. Re-cap the crossovers. Any cabinet resonance can be tamed by installing braces, you can search around here for examples. Do not add damping the inside of the woofer compartment. They say the squawkiness is not from the driver, it is from the horn itself. Look in to tractrix horns. Those are just my opinions, they're not worth much and others might disagree with them. I'd collect lots of data and opinions before making any changes. I'd also add more listening time before making changes. BTW, those are beauties.
  13. Please keep us updated. I’d love to see photos of the actual speakers or what the deal was with using those photos.
  14. Just tell them you want actual photos. Those are NOT photos of the speakers for sale, as I pointed out. So, you gotta ask yourself... who does that? Either a lazy person, someone with something to hide, or a scammer. I repeat. THOSE ARE NOT THEIR PHOTOS.
  15. Nope. Not real. There are more photos from another site, including the boxed photo. Clearly the same background. (thank you, Google Image Search): Specifically, from here: http://www.audiocostruzioni.com/r_s/diffusori/diffusori-2/lascala-II/lascala-II.htm Danger, danger, run away. (Cool to see how they look apart, though)
  16. I completely agree. Don’t attempt it, you’ll only make it bad.
  17. I think it’ll be before that.

  19. Man! That’s some nth level CSI mojo right there! Enhance! Enhance! [emoji15] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Duly noted. I think several people have expressed the opinion that the logos are over the top anyway. Might as well have the right k on there. When I first heard La Scala speakers, it was at an outdoor party and I thought they sounded great but I didn’t know what they were. I remembered vividly the V front and much later it was confirmed for me that the La Scala was what I was hearing that day. I didn’t want that happening to a new listener. I wanted them to have no doubt as to the make of speaker they were hearing. I wanted their experience to be, “WOW! Klipsch! I’ve been lied to by ordinary speakers all these years!” So that’s why the logos are so big. I will correct the k, though. Thanks for pointing that out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
