  1. I am hearing that especially for home theater applications, ceilings are a great place for diffusion. I am pretty sure the GridFusers were engineered to be installed in suspended ceiling grids. Seeing how light weight the GridFusers are, one experiment that would likely provide significant payoff would be to do some temp installs of the diffusers on various ceiling locations using painter tape, bluetac, command strips, etc. to hold them up on the ceiling during short trials. Once the location is dialed in, some matching paint and harware of your choice for permanent placement. Another location to place diffusers that works in many spaces is at the point of first reflection. This allows one to place more absorbtion in other areas of the room without overdamping the entire space while still getting diffusion at locations that are easy to identify and more likely to give solid improvements. Alternating absorbtion and diffusion panels along the wall keeping each treatment type around 20%-25% each and total surface area 50%or less. I also have been studying the field of psychcoacoustics recently. It is a far greater challenge to get diffusion right as opposed to absorbtion, so much so, that without sound science, math, measurements, and luck, typical diy approaches often will not have much success. Besides the fact diffusion solutions are much more expensive than absorbtion, the aesthetics in a home environment can add yet another challenge. All reasons we hear so little about the subject. One more note to add. The experts are saying that for best results 10 feet or more is needed between listening position and diffuser placement with absolute minimums of 6 feet. For the space I am currently room treating now, these distances will likely mean diffusion will not work for me in there.
  2. And there is more. The new brains of the operation. Denon AVR-X4400H directly off the display shelf in the Best Buy Magnolia Design Center and is now sitting on my shelf. 4. I just received a email, and placed my order for a new UDP-205. I was one of the lucky ones to have signed up early for late releases. This will be the last run. I don't know how many are available, but my window of opportunity was 3 days or good bye forever. I confirmed the order 2 hours after I received the email. PS. I asked for some more OPPO swag via email, so hopefully that can happen again this time, unfortunately the guys who answered the phones before no longer have a job at OPPO. 5. OPPO UDP-205 Error - Limit 1 per customer. These last OPPO UDP-205's need a good home and a loving owner so we thank you for your understanding. Frequently Asked Questions I registered to be notified - why have I not received an e-mail allowing me to buy a UDP-205? The notification e-mail will come from WebApp@oppodigital.com and are sent based on when you registered to validated e-mail addresses. We are sending e-mails in waves for a smoother ordering and fulfillment experience. I did not register to be notified but I am still interested in buying a UDP-205. How can I buy one? We are giving priority to those who have already registered via special e-mail links. If there are any inventory remaining after those who have registered, the UDP-205 will be made available publicly. How can I buy more than 1 UDP-205? Due to limited supply and strong demand, we are limiting sales to 1 per customer/household. Thank you for your understanding. I received the notification e-mail to buy a UDP-205 but my special link has already expired. Can I still buy one? To be fair to others who have registered, we must give them a chance to order a UDP-205 during their window of opportunity. If there are any inventory remaining, the UDP-205 will be made available publicly.
  6. My Natuzzi set is 100% covered in imported Italian Full Grain Leather. It's as thick as a deflated college football. When leather has a grade, it's a top grain, meaning it's been split.
  7. This is the Palliser I just had delivered Saturday. The guys moving it said it was their heaviest piece, and really hated it because of how hard it was to move. Power recline, power headrest, power lumbar. The wife insisted that the power lumbar was the make or break item for her. I got it for a steal, but MSRP retail $4k, but usually closer to $2700 sell price. As you know 4000 grade would add another $1K or so.
  8. New seating. Paliser top grain leather. Power recline, power headrest, power lumbar, and the most important of all...cupholders.
  9. Not exactly today, but all this week. Two packages (24 panels total) of Owens Corning 703 acoustic fiberglass insulation. Still waiting on the Guilford of Maine fabric to wrap all of these, but I have started on some of the background panels in my recently converted dedicated home theater space. The wall panels are covered in Royalty Black Velvet for zero light reflections and constructed of 2" frames for a flush look with the screen and future acoustic panel placements.
  10. I have black granite slabs I purchased from a local supply store for creating tops for mine. Beware granite is slighly more difficult to cut than glass 😉 but does offer more color choices.
  11. I use a 4 foot tall Variegated Ficus for diffusion. I also have begun hanging fabric panels on my ceiling and upper wall portions. Very soon I will be wrapping 24 panels of Owens Corning 703 in Guilford of Maine acoustic fabric. All DIY.
