I have hardwood floors and slid Cornwalls slowly and carefully across my floors with ZERO scratches. However, if you are Going to do so, I would make sure that the "domes of silence" are perfectly smooth or close to. I would leave them as is.

I believe that. This is the main reason I have strayed from and been brought back to Klipsch several times now. I am here to stay. For the amount of money I am willing to throw at a system and the room I have to work with, nothing else I have had in here comes close.

For some time now, solid state. I have had tube components in the past and certainly understand and appreciate the positive qualities that they can add to a system (their magic was always in the mids in my systems). Auto biasing tubes would be the way to go for me and there there is no "hassle". Never tried a tubed DAC, so I can't comment there. I think this thread will have the majority of voters in the tube category. I get it and understand why. May eventually switch back myself, not anytime soon though.

An Open Baffle setup with lots of woofers (8 15" woofers per channel in Open Baffle) like my good friend has done with the best of electronics do put out a sound that is second to none and very dynamic with lots and lots of "motors" doing the work in a 3-way system that's flat to 20 Hz. without subs. This I wanna see

Crown macro reference is another animal entirely. Look it up if you are unfamiliar. QSC PLX amps are awesome amps and incredible for the price on the used market. For example a tube amp with minimal voltage output will not be able to drive a pro amp to full output.

I would have to disagree with you there. I have done several consumer to pro pairings. Are you concerned about the levels not working well? I wouldn't recommend blind pairing and would suggest one understand the differences in audio level. That being said, they work well together with a little thought. Yes QSC PLX amps are nice. I decided not to tinker and modify my plx gear since I would be running it bridged mono. Instead I will use two crown macro references which have zero audible fan noise under normal conditions. I still think these are my favorite amps I have owned. Time to find another.

I was using a benchmark DAC3 straight into crown macro amps and it was Def one of the better setups I've ever had. I would say IMO the unit could be unforgiving with the wrong recordings. Foolishly sold it and the crowns to "downgrade". Oh well, life goes on.

I am going to being trying out a better DAC, run inline with a preamp since I need a Crossover in addition. Perhaps if you cant run a DAC straight to your amps, this may also be a solution for you?

I'll second the dedicated outlet, great idea. I'm still rocking an older monster unit that has been working forever. Audio gear and computer plugged in, amps straight to the wall.

Silver? No gold or platinum? The cables have a value of more than the Forte IIs. Personally, i would pass on the speakers and grab the cables for that price.
