Is anybody up near Scranton PA? There is a guy who absolutely refuses to drive the distance between his house and a FedEx location so I could have the speakers shipped. Now, OK, I can see if they are Belles or Klipschorns, but these are a pair of Heresy speakers. I think commerce in the U.S. would stop if items this size and larger couldn't be safely shipped. Might anybody be able to get them from Scranton to Washington D.C. area? OR might anybody be able to get them from Scranton to Central Florida? Of course, any help greatly appreciated.

Maybe this is better in the Pony Express section, but is there anybody on the forum here close enough to get these for me? If they even keep them for a month while I arrange to get them to Florida that would work. I can't believe the guy won't bother dropping them off at a FedEx location. That's it, doesn't seem like a huge deal, but he obviously won't do it, apparently a real hassle, so I'm supposed to do a 45 hour round trip drive instead. I'd pay the FedEx people to pack them, I'd pay the FedEx people to ship them. I just need somebody to drive the however many miles between his house and the FedEx location. I'd pay whoever can do this, I'd even pay the seller, but he doesn't care.

I'm wondering if ClaudeJ1 has actually purchased these speakers or just found out that the seller would accept an offer of $400. Does this mean, as ClaudeJ1 is in Detroit, the seller is then shipping them there? I too am interested in them, and I believe previous to ClaudeJ1, made an offer of $460 (full price) + paying for all shipping charges including packing at FedEx, and without comment the seller rejected my offer.

I'll say they look absolutely spectacular, if a "noodler" did this I'd say Wow! But yes, I agree, if they are factory, that makes them that much more special. I tried to zoom in on the labels, but from what I could see they appear to be blank. Doesn't mean I'm saying they're blank, just that when I tried to look I couldn't see any writing. IF I was anywhere close, or knew of anyone who could pick them up, I'd grab them. But they are fairly up towards the NE part of Pennsylvania. I don't know why, with these smaller speakers, the seller wouldn't be willing to even bring them somewhere and have FedEx pack them to ship if they didn't want to do it for whatever reason.

Of course, they'd probably want to be paid in Canadian Loons, but still.

Back when Schu posted the comment, I was going to reply that they haven't found a new home yet because they're so happy where they're at! 😄 I wasn't sure if people would understand the bit of humor though. On another website a guy posted a block-long burnout, and I commented "what are the odds that on a perfectly dry road there'd be a small puddle of water right under the rear tire?" And he replied, "I have no idea what you're talking about." So sometimes, and I'm not even going to mention some of the other ones, one guy was really upset. But maybe the thing to do is just enjoy them where they're at, even if the experts say they're not in the optimum location!

An anecdotal report, but I rode a Honda Rebel 250, got it at 700 miles, and rode it 90K more miles. Always used Mobil1 15W-50, and changed every 3000 miles. It only took about 1.5 qt or so, and was very easy to change. There was no oil filter, so I felt I couldn't go longer even if the oil itself wasn't breaking down. I still had the original exhaust system, and the original clutch. I saved an incredible amount of money by riding a $900 motorcycle, and sold it all those years later for $500 or so. I was pushing over 100 mpg on very good days in the summer. At some point, I thought Mobil changed the Mobil1, so maybe now the choice might be different. I've always understood Royal Purple to be the ultimate in motor oil, but even back then my little Honda Rebel didn't need such an ultimate quality oil.

I have wondered about having this done. First, as Davis said, if it was perfectly calibrated right out of the box, I suppose I'd be disappointed then if I paid somebody to come in and calibrate it. To me, the picture from the OLED is stunning, I really couldn't imagine it getting any better, but was there a noticeable improvement after calibration?

Otherwise, you'll still have to step up to an LG OLED!! Have I EVER steered you wrong yet???

Wow, what a spectacular setup!! I can only imagine how excellent those speakers sound!!!! OK, maybe I shouldn't do this, but I'm going to partially disagree with Schu. I would always buy quality over size. However, I too was searching for a TV awhile back. I was debating between the LG OLED 55" and the OLED 65", which was significantly more expensive. I asked the question on Amazon, and one guy replied, no question, if you have to wait and save up, get the OLED 65". So OK, I went with quality and size, so I suppose Schu is pretty much right after all. I know he is right about Chris at Cleveland Plasma, which is where I ended up getting the 65" LG OLED TV from. The model we got was the OLED65C7P model. OK, here is my wife story. Chris said before shipping, it was essential to carefully check the box for any damage while the delivery guy is still there, and note it on the delivery sheet. OK, straightforward enough! So one day I was going to be gone a few hours, and told my wife everything that Chris had said, if on the rare chance the delivery guy would get there. SO, I get home after not too long, and there's a giant TV box sitting in the foyer!! Well, a giant, shredded TV box with a huge hole poked into it. I looked, and asked if I hadn't explained about what to look for when it was delivered. My wife said she understood completely, and even though the box is shredded toast, she knew that I meant to see if the TV inside was damaged. Of course. So I immediately emailed Chris with a few photos, and started unboxing it. I opened the box, and saw there was another box inside. So I got the outer box off, and the inner box was in much better condition. It wasn't shredded, but there was a hole in it, although much smaller than the outer box. So I opened the inner box, and the TV was perfect, whatever poked through hadn't hit the TV. So because Chris was so fastidious about packing things correctly, the TV arrived safely, and I have no doubt it would have been destroyed otherwise. So if there is only room for the 55" OLED, I'd still get an OLED over anything else. This is my personal opinion, but others who have seen it also agree, it is completely different from any "regular" TV. And no, I haven't seen everything, but we did consider Sony and ended up thinking they were a bit overpriced for what you got. I also thought the LG was superior to the Sony on many points, including having a setting that is supposed to help prevent burn-in. I do worry about that, but if others here haven't wrecked the TV by now, LG must have done a good job providing protection for it.

I thought I'd update for Dave's database, they are now listed as SOLD. If things would have worked out they would have been coming here, and Dave's debt to me would have been repaid!! 😀 I showed the photo to my wife. She said, "They're big, bulky, and not the prettiest things in the world." My reply, "They're huge, awesome, and incredibly beautiful." I also thought they were priced very fairly, at least it seemed to me. I wasn't sure what finish they were, but they looked spectacular. They really would have been sitting here but for the fact that it would have been a disservice to the speakers. As the seller stated, he didn't have the proper room for it, and it was ironic but it would have ended up the same here as he had them, partially covering a doorway. It would have ended up as speakers with a small room attached. The width might have even been overcome, but I've got the TV and the furniture perfectly centered, and that would have been thrown off. It would have driven me crazy, but yes, I'd live with it. It really ended up being the depth. I could have possibly moved the couch back an equal amount, but I have a floor plug for the lamps which then would have been rendered unusable. Yes, all things I could live with, sitting in the dark listening to Klipschorns, I would have slept on the couch for decades, but I'd never have been able to drag them into the house unscathed by myself.

You'll have to either call or email for the price. His price might be just as good if not better with a new TV as Woot with a refurbished one. I will tell you he is spectacular. We bought the 65" LG OLED from him, I told my wife that she'd have to check and make sure there was absolutely no damage when it was delivered. So I got back home, and the box is terrible, a huge gash and a hole in it. I was dreading seeing what was next, but it was packed double-boxed, and completely protected, and the TV arrived perfect because of the additional care in packing. You'll also have to watch out what model you're looking at, as there is a large variation in price between the top tier and the entry level. IIRC mine is the -B model, I didn't need all the fancy options, and it has the same screen which is what counts. There is a variation in the TV stand, but mine is wall mounted, so it was a moot point. (And talk about exciting, trying to get the TV to the wall mount with others in the house barely able to hold it without dropping! But it all worked out.)

I have actually purchased from onecall, and I found them to be excellent to deal with, just as a tangential comment thrown in. Is acousticsounddesigns the same as Sound Distributors (the ones who listed the $499 speakers)? They are both in Nevada, although in different cities. Did acousticsounddesigns grab two from Sound Distributors for $1000 and are now trying to sell them for $4000? The other strange detail is that acousticsounddesigns is listed as in Gabbs, Nevada, which looks to be in the middle of nowhere, but yet, from the messages, it states that they are in Post Falls Idaho. They state in the ad that there are three pairs of speakers available.
