  1. On quality vintage equipment, I usually try to buy local, then pickup and drive the equipment myself to avoid shipping damage. You can't go wrong with McIntosh. They are all good. The other plus is that as long as you have the original Mac transformers and autoformers, everything else can be replaired. I have had some great deals buying damaged Macs and having them repaired. I bought a 2105 years ago for under $300 on ebay becasue it had cracked glass. No one was bidding. What fools. LOL. Mac sells brand new front glass for arround $100. I then spent another $150 replacing other worn out electronics, that I would have to have done on even a new looking pristine unit. So now I have a brand spanking new looking and sounding 2105 for just over $500. Every big city has at least one old school qualified Mac repairman. Find yours. JM
  2. If your in or arround Wisconsin this weekend, this is the place to be. [] http://www.skyranchflyers.com/2012_Fun_Fly.htm We have the Commemoritive Air Force landing two WW2 War Birds at Noon. We have the best RC pilots WI, IL, and MN visiting including Miss Trixie Kimball who performed last weekend in the International Extreme Flight Championships. JM
  3. Those PWK recordings were really nice. I would love to hear those in Artto's room. I had a good chuckle when JH played that 1953 interview. That woman interviewer complained about all the wires and that men do not put their equipment "out of sight" when they are done using them. I guess I am not surprised that WAF was always a factor. When PWK was asked about his thoughts about high fidelity. He said he does not agree with others views of high fidelity... He then said, You either have fidelity or infidelity... LOL. You just got to Love it. JM
  4. I need to add my thanks too. Both my son and I had a blast. It was great to see old friends and make some new ones. JM
  5. Larry RC stands for Radio Control. The transmitters have two sticks or gimbals that work the 4 main flight control channels. The right side stick is the same as the stick or yoke on a real airplane. up and down controlls the elivators or horizontal stab on your tail, left and right controls the ailerons on the wing that roll the airplaine left and right. The left side stick up and down is the engine throttle, left and right are your rudder, like the rudder peddles on the airplane which are also tied into the the nose wheel for ground stearing. Most pilots has at least two more channels that can be switches or rotery knobs to control other things like flaps, smoke systems, engine kill switches, wheel brakes, lights, bomb drops, really anything you can imagine. It will be good to see you in Indy Saturday June 9th. JM
  6. Thanks WC. I wish you the best at your events also. I live about 1 hour from Oshkosh too. If you ever come up to EAA Airventure please visit [] We had 3 turbines at our show last year. Here are a few you tube vids where you can see the jets. The 3D flying is also a big hit. Got to love the sound and smell of the jets JM
  7. WC I've always wanted to visit Joe Nall. That is the show or shows Our show gets a lot of non RC spectators. Last year we broke the 1000 visitor mark. Our club does alot of local community events especially with Children. Most of our clubs sponsors are local businesses. Our event is also a fund raiser for two local boy scout troups. One troup cooks and and sells our food, the other troup parks cars. Our club flies off of an old 2900 foot crop duster runway. We share the runway with an ultralight club and get a few planes landing. The air national guard like to use it ever few months for training too. Our club is the official care taker of the property and has the best relationship with the land owner. He always tells others to contact our club to get permission to use the land. This year having the Confederate Air Forse landing two WW2 Warbirds is a first for us. They are flying in from a pancake breakfast elsewhere in the state that morning. We have a hand held radio for pilots to call our airboss so we can clear the airspace of all models before they come in. Weather is the key. We have been blessed in the past. I can only remember it raining once, and that was late in the day. Nice to meet a fellow modeler on the Klipsh forum. I am going to Muncie for XFC next weekend. Are you going too? JM
  8. This is by far the best RC Airshow in IL and WI. If your in the area that weekend, come check it out. The airport is located about 1/2 hour north of Milwaukee. http://www.skyranchflyers.com/2012_Fun_Fly.htm JM

  15. DTEL, That is my lovely and tallented wife Leslie singing this song. The music was ripped from Amy Grants version. I have a simple M-Audio equiped recording PC set up in my basement and this was mixed using Audacity free software on a PC. Got to love modern technology. Merry Christmas everyone. JM
  16. Merry Christmas to all of you and your families. My lovely wife recorded this little gem in our basement the other night. I hope you enjoy listening to it this blessed Christmas season. http://www.malotky.com/Music/BreathOfHeaven.mp3 JM

  19. The wife and I are having an 11/11/11 party at the Malotky Home Theater basement. If any of you are in the Milwaukee WI area that Friday night and want to attend, send me a PM. My McIntosh / Heritage system goes to 11. 11 accross the board..... JM
  20. On my Heritage HT, I run Lexicon for the proccessor and old school McIntosh amps. I love how Lexicon's logic7 turns any signal into seamless 7.1. You never hear sound from the speakers, it images in between them seamlessly. I run a total of 5 McIntosh amps. 3 McIntosh 250's in Mono for the front 3 channels. And two 2105's in sterio for the sides and rears. JM
