    NFL 2019

At least they fluffed up the halftime show w/more fireworks this year. I kinda liked the free flashlights (and instructons on when to turn them on and off) they gave to everyone years ago.
  3. Huh? Old guy here w/tons of $$$$ passed a few years ago and my buddy picked up a dollar box at the auction and said here I got this for ya you need it. I opened the box and it looked as though it was never worn. I kept it and just in the past year realized it was for my left ear which has been terrible since I was in the Artillery for 10 of 22 years. Yup, could do the VA route but I thought I'd have the local lady here check it out. Showed her the paperwork and she immediately said, "Did you get the other one too? I sold him two." Ugh... Yea, it's on most of the time now and sucks listening to my system but I don't hear squat anymore. Won't be long and I'll be needing something for both ears sooo keepin an eye on this thread!
  4. Sittin back chillin a bit this afternoon. Broke out some salsa then doctored it up with some of @oldtimer special select! Schiit is frooooozen! Eyeballin the Superbowl. Eh, just another ball game.
  5. Change up! Hear them beating on the trash can in the dug out??? 😂 Had to! Soooooo good!
  6. Do like I did... I'll be gone and whoever gets it will have their work cut out for them unless they just move in! Can you imagine my oldest daughter movin in and gamin on a 60" w/it running thru my Prima Luna into the LS? Lawd have mercy! The youngest stays in Phoenix she'd have to ship it all there? Ok, we're dealin! Anyone interested? hahahahahaha!!!
  7. I KNOW I have two but I prolly couldn't tell the difference even if I had all 3. Ya have to be able to hear don't ya? Ugh! 😂
  8. The first LP by Paul Kantner and Jefferson Starship released in 1970 had some big guns in it. Grace Slick naturally but added CSN&Y, Jerry Garcia and many others. EVERYone put their heads together crankin this out then hung out and recorded David Crosby's debut album after. The way it was! Today? Not so much. Jefferson Starship released "Sunfighter" in 1971. Kantner & Slick, remaining members of Jefferson Airplane, members of the Grateful Dead, CSN and tossed in "The Tower of Power" for some horns! "Dragon Fly" Jefferson Starship's debut album was released in 1974 on their own Grunt label and the turning point for the band itself. Hit #11 and certified Gold in less than 6 months.

I'm looking for Bosa to go ballistic like he did that nite against Cleveland and Mayfield. He's gotta go one up on his younger brother. Should be a good game anyway you look at it though.
  15. All of the above is so true of John. Great guy, ZERO ego unlike the rest of the family. Just couldn't ask for a nicer guy. He touched so many other's lives and never once looked back. Sad to see him gone so soon.
  16. That's possible if a stringer was there waiting and called in. TMZ would call the Lakers and ask and could have got that response but I doubt they would confirm it. It''s possible someone knew but they would have taken a major credibility hit had it not been true. Assumption is never good in a case like that. How'd they know there were no survivors? First they went w/5 as a number THEN later the on scene report was released and it became 9 so SOMEone reported that, which is a MAJOR error in fact journalistically. Just a crazy nuts situation.
  17. hahahahaha John! You're getting into the thick of it all now. Can't wait to sit back and smirk at you. Cleaning, sorting, listening, nosin. Don't forget the alphabetical order! hahaha Hope ya know what's clean and what's not. No you can't take a black Sharpie and write your name on the front! Yea I'm laffin but we've all been there. It's a lot of work but also a lot of fun. Had a lumber company build my oak cabinet when I first began. Solid inch oak, recessed glass door slider tracks top and bottom on each of the 4 shelves. Had to really think it through cause I didn't want the bottoms of the LP's getting torn up pulling them and dragging them over the track. They thought I was absolutely insane to put that kind of money in a cabinet for "records." Now I wish I had 3 or 4. At today's prices that's not gonna happen. Have been thunkin though. Bwa, ha ha You thought I was nuts... Welcome to the world and you got a great price on your stuff. Thought I might see somethin in your list but nope, got em all. 😂 😂 😎

    Horology...

ALWAYS wanted a Rolex but could never afford one or justify one so I never got one. The closest I ever got to a Rolex was really a fluke and a joke. Dave Edwards was Ben Crenshaw's caddy for years. We became friends jokin and hanging a bit at Muirfield during the Memorial Golf Tournament. Rain delays, etc. A bunch of us got together and played Euchre. One year I was going to spend the day with Dave carrying for Ben because Dave wanted some pics as did Ben. #1 tee Ben took off his solid gold Rolex and handed it to Dave to put in his pocket. I piped up and said hey lemme wear that for ya and they both laffed. I said I'm not going anywhere remember? So Ben told Dave to give it to me and I put it on. Perfect fit so I said see ya later. Yea, watches are cool but you guys are nuts! How about this one for ya??? Cool factor??? https://www.esquire.com/style/mens-accessories/a30692845/rolex-paul-newman-daytona-antiques-roadshow/?utm_campaign=socialflowFBESQ&utm_medium=social-media&utm_source=facebook&fbclid=IwAR3tKlS0bueY0k7BW7FY6CV7hJPBz1EoLNeHKwGQ_cO7uHRDJogJl_np2wE
  19. A sports writer friend of mine posted this story on the typical cluster f*0k when things like this happen now days. Sad some reporting agencies have stooped to this level of news reporting. Getting the scoop is one thing but handling things in a proper respectful way is another thing now days. Now that two days have passed since Kobe Bryant's sudden and shocking death, I wanted to weigh in by evaluating the media's collective performance of the tragedy. For starters, celebrity-driven website TMZ broke the story ahead of every other major news outlet, not at all caring whether the victims' families, including Vanessa Bryant, had been notified. The website reported the news to the world just one hour and 37 minutes after the doomed helicopter crashed into the mountain, and at that point it is likely that none of the five families of the nine victims had been notified. The public may wonder how TMZ possibly knew so early. Knowing how it operates with correspondents almost everywhere in the greater L.A. area, I am guessing they had hired someone to try to interview Kobe at his Mamba Academy in Thousand Oaks, waiting his arrival with other youth basketball players and their parents -- because Kobe was there the day before and said he would return Sunday for his daughter‘s games that day. As soon as everyone there realized the helicopter had not arrived as scheduled, and after the initial report over a police scanner that a helicopter was down just miles away, TMZ executives put two-and-two together and went with the story in order to report it first, not caring whether relatives had been notified. After all, this wasn’t a president or public official where the public’s right to know came first. Secondly, ABC inexcusably soon reported that all four of Bryant's daughters were on board the helicopter. Fortunately, by that time, Vanessa Bryant obviously knew that wasn't true since she surely was with the couple's other three daughters at the time. And ESPN, along with ABC which is owned by the same corporation, also reported that former Laker Rick Fox was among the victims. Fox' family had to tweet that he was with them and very much alive. But can you imagine the feeling of Fox' extended family and friends who had no idea whether it was true? And finally, every outlet reported for several hours there were five victims when sadly it turned out to be nine. I have no idea how they botched this so badly, other than they copycatted TMZ's initial report. Also, I do not think enough airtime has been spent on the other seven victims in addition to Kobe and his daughter. Four other families have been devastated, including one in which both parents (Orange Coast College baseball coach John Altobelli who had his own lengthy and successful career in sports, his wife and daughter) also had died, but that is the media/celebrity-driven world in which we live. Bryant was world famous while the other eight victims were not. On the flip side, the many reflections of Bryant's life and career on ESPN have been poignant and redeeming. However, when it came to the breaking news, the media collectively failed miserably. It failed in its accuracy and most importantly, it failed by not displaying its humanity. And humanity and doing what is right -- even for the media -- should always supersede the ultra-competitive business of doing it first. It didn't in this case -- and that is a tragedy in itself.
  20. Load up on the aspirin now to avoid the rush later. lol FREE is ALWAYS good. Especially if you have free wood you can burn. PITA loading it up but at least the FREE makes it a bit lighter or does it? lol Better you than me! Jeans today?
  21. How DO you survive all of that excitement??? I'm having trouble wondering when I'm going to find time to fuel up and save 60 cents a gallon using my Kroger fuel points. 2 days left so I better suit up and git er done. Right after I dive on some chicken & noodles I cranked out yesterday.

Welcome home! I think! lol Glad you're hanging around! One big happy family in here! Well, kinda maybe! lolol
  23. Just like the David Lee Roth thread. They're all done but they're legends and as long as ppl pay to see them they'll keep performing for the next generation. Remasters make them some beer money as do the shows but overall the quality sound we all heard is long gone!
