Why don't YOU buy one THEN review, did Denon ban you too? ---------------- Rumor?? It was something someone OBSERVED with their Denon DVD-2900. ---------------- You should say it is something someone THOUGHT they MAY have observed, that's what the person said. They even went back and changed the thread title because they were not sure. Its always BEST to judge only what you have tried, anyone can have a hundred reasons for audio/video problems. This may or may not matter at all,but people spreading hearsay does none of us any good, imo. If you buy this product and have problems,TAKE IT BACK,sounds pretty simple. If I go to every site and proclaim Klipsch new faulty ref woofers blow up,some goof balls will start spreading this too, even though I just made it up.
  2. Hey kain,is spreading rumor all you do? Why don't YOU buy one THEN review, did Denon ban you too?

The Harman Kardon AVR520. ---------------- m00n,dts 96/24 digital capable,dual surround sp mode,video conversion,AL24,12v trigger?
  4. Hey Mike, when I switch my 3803 to SAT(HBO) I have the ch levels and sub calibrated(personal memory+) for that input. Also the ksw is ok but CANNOT keep up with the 7's ,get the rsw12/15,you won't run it wide open.
  5. WOWWEE,a few kids at avs are wringing their hands in flustration at this hi-tech mystery, the 2900.I have read glowing reviews from owners that have no bass management issues at all. These owners also have a good understanding of the unit.HTF had a very informative review on the audio, including bass management.
  6. Marksdad,if you listen to anything in an a/v store how coiuld you possibly know what it sounds like?I have a friend that works in higher end store,he can make anything sound good or bad,all at the touch of a button.
  7. I use plumbers putty on plumbing, plastic, metal etc..never had a problem.I would think the only problem with putty is it dries out and becomes brittle.
  8. Colin, great points, that's why the rsw 15 is my sub of choice.
  9. OH Yea!I love the living room concerts, great seats.I have about 200 dvd concerts, some ok,some great. The Cult live is great,Steely Dan,Ted Nugent,Page/Plant,Kansas,CSN,Neil Young,Joe Satriani and a long list including the ones you mentioned.I don't really watch movies but love the concerts.
  10. Chuckears, good points about the locals, very sorry for affected families.
  11. HornEd,YOU are a legend ary,we know you'll never go till you figure out a way to take your Klipsch!Well we're glad to have you here, hopefully for many more birthdays!
  12. First question,Do these units have the same features? I don't think so.Do I want you to buy a Denon?,don't matter to me.Is the 3803 better,I only owned one HK,it blew a channel.Denon, but you should listen and check features of any you can.
  13. Krell MRS,its ok, but RSW RULES!...in subs I can afford anyway.I think I would prefer the entire SVS lineup for the same price.Although I know where a nice lightly used one is for 16k.
  14. Just wanted to say I have a friend with a ref 50 that whines,so does my friend. He's not too happy with the service he's been gettin'.This may be an insulated isodent but with your past problems in mind, try to research all you can and buy from reputable dealer.
  15. If you want a clear finish, laquer(must be spayed). If you need a slightly yellow, usually polyurathane is.Poly can be brushed(china bristle).Best go to local prof paint store Sherwin Williams etc..tell them what you need to do,they should have some advise.
  16. Hey Griff,BB's ok,just not for audio gear, although there is a recent improvement Welcome.
  17. ---------------- On 5/4/2003 10:07:48 PM kev313 wrote: hdcd v. sacd/dad-a?? anyone? ---------------- I don't think HDCD is quite as sophisticated a technology as dvd-a,sacd.Also no multi ch or multi format.
  18. See if you can get fm radio,or any analog out to zone two.I have a 3803 and with a digital connection from cd to avr I get no zone 2,I hooked up analog cables also and it works.
  19. For $1.02 in the 70's you could see many legendary bands in my area,Foghat,Molley Hatchet etc...For $18.00 Led Zepp, for 7.50 Kiss,Aerosmith etc..NO rules!Guess those days are long gone. It's still great to see your favorite bands, seems like more hassle gettin' tickets though. On the SRV,I purchased a guitar in Dallas, signed by SRV at a promotional.I spent 3hrs.carefully removing his large signature 3"x6" written in red marker from the front. Two weeks later he was killed, funny how his sig had no value to me until he was gone.
  20. I have several disk that are HDCD,they do sound pretty good.If you have a large cd collection you may already have some. One that comes to mind is VanHalen's self titled cd,the remastered version. You need a HDCD capable player for full benefit, although remastering is still an improvement. If you already have a capable player and find a HDCD you like, it is a bonus.I would not spend big bucks on a new set up unless you already plan to.
  21. Yep,3803 has no rivals at its price.
  22. Thanks Scott, great tail,I gotta go get breakfast now.
  23. As far as the rsw it can rattle anything loose in the average home(dishes in my case). As far as house construction it is many times better today than it was yesteryear(not including custom mansions).I have been building for 30 years and have seen it all from Michigan to Texas. It all comes down to the builder or subs, just as with everything else some people do sh!ty work.I have worked on many older homes and most people should be glad they DON'T build em' like they used to.I am very proud I have never been sued or even threatened,as a matter of fact my customers all have given me great references. The only way I have found to have quality is I personaly do it all, everything except heating and air and carpet.I should say I don't built track homes,I build custom homes for individuals and seldom bid against anyone.
