  1. Im gonna go out on a limb and reccomend checking post history for unknown folks your thinking of buying from. I can only assume scammers have little to no activity on here. Always stick with paypal protected transactions, and best of luck with your purchase
  2. Stanton decks are consindered super oem tables, they are manufactured by hanpin. Hanpin makes alot of direct drive tables for dj use, they do offer a fairly good value for the money in that relm. After a little research you will find most oem tables have a similar quality, they get fairly good reviews from dj's but troubled reviews from audiophiles and others who are looking into higher end gear. Here is the top result from a stanton super oem search. https://www.vinyloftheday.com/super-oem-turntables/ The stanton str-88 tables are known to thrash records with their straight tone arms, but will track the record and not skip with aggressive scratching. So if thats the table your looking at, i would pass.
  3. Woofer gaskets were a big one for me, this is my first pair, so ny only reference was information that i had read from other owners and 3rd party listeners. Well i got them home and they were a bit bass shy, but definitely didnt thump like they should have, so i did some investigating and this was the result, my gaskets were completely shot. I'm sure la scalas get sold more often like this than one might imagine, if mine were this bad, others must be suffering too.
  4. Apparently you can fit 2 la scalas inside an 89 gmc jimmy 2 door, and you get the bonus of your friends thinking your nuts for having speakers worth over twice the value of your vehicle
  5. I have the black horns also, along with ev t-35's, my k77's, k77m's, and ev t35 all fit onto the same horn, thats why you see the silver backed horn in my picture, but i can assure you it is the same fitting as your black one.
  6. Agreed, i could live with the orange i guess, but i would of liked to see the tops done up too. The exposed orange doesn't do it for me...
  7. You can see the gasket and the lense here, i would use keep the same gasket and lense together unless they are damaged.
  8. Here is a picture of the driver, after removing the screws and lense (after removing the screws, gently seperate the lense from the driver). You can see the solder lugs and diaphragm assembly as being the black plate attached to the magnet. It is crucial that these two pieces do not become separated from each other (they should be well attached, but whatever you do do not force them apart while removing the lense)
  9. Ive swapped lenses on the t35's with the k77/k77m. I believe the k77 series are a solid unit, where as the t35 assemblys can pry open fairly easily. I could be wrong about this, but whatever do make sure the the compression driver remains in tact, you do not want to open up the driver as you can damage the fragile filiment. As long as you remove only the lense, and everything stays in place you should be fine. Maybe someone with a bit more experience can chime in here? Id hate to solicit advice and have someone break a compression driver in the process, but in my opinion it should be as simple and uncoupling the lense (and only the lense). I have some k77s i can take apart if you want pictures of the process.
  10. Those are beautiful, good luck with your sale!
  11. This might be a more esoteric suggestion, but cranial sacral therapy might be beneficial.
  12. Did you open up the second cabinet? Checking the seals and making sure everything is snug? Could be room placement, as stated in the thread. If your problem persists i would consider starting another thread for help.
  13. Im using a slightly different setup, but feel like it's similar enough to be relavent. I have dave a's mahl tweeters (b&c de-120) with crites a/4500, and i would say they are a step up from the k77, i am very happy with them. I cannot comment on the crites lenses, but i have the same drivers, just my 2 cents.
  14. Can you use your old lense with the new compression driver?
  15. Some pictures of the gasket... Both gaskets were extremely deteriorated and missing some pieces. Replaced gaskets and put everything back together, performance of both bins have improved. Thanks for the help everybody.
  16. Welp, i opened up the hatch, and the cover was not secured very well, most of the screws were not very tight at all. The gasket is definitely mush, there is deteriorated gasket material on the hatch and cabinet. Will report back soon. I would post some pictures, but i keep getting an error "-200"
  17. They are recently acquired, i purchased them a month or two back. The crossovers are new crites a/4500's, and i did investigate possible amp/channel issues, and it is related to the cabinet. I assumed id have to open them up and investigate, but i could use some direction with type of sealant to use. Is there a sealant i can get from the hardware store? Or would parts express/other online vendor really be the only way to go?
  18. So i'm having some issues with my la scala's bass response. One cabinet has a significant difference in bass response, one cabinet has pretty clean punchy bass, and the other... Well not so much. I am getting sound from the woofer, but it seems pretty thin with a significant drop in percieved volume (the bass does not sound full), maybe 6db. Does this sound like a sealing issue? Any thoughts?
  19. Came here to say sous vide is a very good way to cook steaks at home, you can get a steak to damn near perfect temp everytime. I cook for a living at a country club, and happen to cook new york strip everday, will vouch for the sous vide!
  20. Non affiliated, but incase anyone is looking in the area. https://tucson.craigslist.org/ele/d/green-valley-klipsch-la-scala-speakers/7023372045.html
  21. I wasn't aware the crites tweeters uses this driver, appologies for my ignorance.
  22. Anyone using this setup? Any recomendations or reasons why this wouldn't be a good match? I recently picked up daves mahl tweeters with the b&c de120 drivers, and i am hoping to order some new crossovers this weekend.
