Ivermectin was never an FDA approved treatment for Covid 19 , therefore it would not be considered an existing treatment. The use of Ivermectin lacked scientific evidence of being a beneficial treatment for Covid 19 as was hydroxychloraquine .So yes you are correct , thousands of ill informed patients died unnecessarily taking drugs that were ineffective ,whilst effective vaccines sat on shelves . Conspiracy theories and misinformation should not be tolerated during times of grave public health concern, but because of free speech that this great nation affords its people, much latitude was given to dangerous propaganda.

Bose has done a masterful job of propagandizing the uninformed segment of the market, a brilliant strategy really . Most Bose owners are quite satisfied with their underperforming speakers . They assume that their Bose speakers are a high end product , and they aren’t likely to second guess their decision to purchase . Bose buyers are not audio enthusiasts or critical listeners, they are just buyers of a perceived high end brand , and that’s important to them . Darn good marketing sells Bose . 🤓

I don’t like weak spots either ,I’ve tried hard over the years to eliminate as many of those as possible . Unfortunately , lots of people will be forced to make various compromise, take the guy with a pair of Heritage Jubilee’s , what if he decides to expand to multi channel , he will be faced with difficult choices, Will he add another Jubilee at center ? opt for a phantom center ?or maybe use a Lascala for center ? There’s only one ideal answer here , but probably difficult to implement . I think we all know what is theoretically best practice , but real world circumstances most often prevent the complete alignment of the stars . Many people find work around solutions to solve their problems and some are willing to share their stories , interesting stuff and makes for good conversation .

Home theater sound is highly center focused , certainly not equally distributed throughout seven or five channels .Im sure we can agree that the front three channels are the primary channels , but of these three front channels, most if not all dialogue and a major portion of the on screen action, will be played through the center channel . The center channel is focused to the story presented on screen and is most vital, whether produced in phantom or as a discrete channel. The other channels provide us with surround sound. 🤓

One man’s fix is another man’s ruin . It takes specialized engineering and a keen sense of hearing to modify and actually improve these speakers . Most mods will degrade the sound quality , as in a tweeter swap from the above source . Words like “updated” and “modified” are used loosely to imply that improvements have been made to the sound of their speakers , but have they really achieved that goal ?

I think the older Heritage models represent some of the best values in home audio, particularly Lascala and Klipschorn . And if you’re lucky enough to find a used pair in excellent original condition, jackpot . These models will immediately impress you with their unparalleled scale and authority , they let you know that the big boys are playing the room , with a good recording, you become aware that something special is going on , and it is . The big powerful old heritage sound is still tough to beat . Sure the new models may benefit from various refinements, they most certainly will provide a flatter frequency response, but the old stuff still stand’s strong with all the attributes that horn fanatics love . Many will find that the old classic Klipsch is a very attractive alternative to the new and improved stuff , just as many preferred the lovely Maryann over the supposedly more sophisticated and refined Ginger 🤓

I’m driving an old set of Heresy’s with a beat up DVD player and little Lepai amp , best treadmill stereo I’ve ever had , the speakers made the difference , and I’m up to 3.5 mph 🤓

I’ll bet the little kids would get a big kick out of Barbie doll sized asteroids , the bigger kids would probably be more interested in IPhone sized asteroids . An asteroid the size of a Klipschorn would get my attention , that would be awesome 🤓

Yes , that’s right , it’s compromise , that’s the point , we should resist compromise ,particularly at center 🤷‍♂️.you won’t catch me with a Heresy or Academy between my Klipschorns , only Lascala will do for me . I responded to this thread because the OP recognized the importance of a high quality speaker at center , as I do , and I thought that his approach was unique , although in reality a variation of a standard fantom center . A matching front stage is preferred ( by me)but If I only had one great sounding speaker , it goes to center, where would you place your best speaker ?

Sure a superior center can expose weakness in the other channels , but because the center is responsible for about 70 percent of the audio presentation with most sources including all dialogue , center speaker quality becomes paramount . Just as Frank Sinatra’s magnificent voice towers above his lowly background singers , the center channel towers above all other channels . Having said this I like a matching front stage without any compromise . Rebuy points out the importance of a great center and I agree 🤓

Carpet is a very affective and simple way to control reverberation/ echo. Carpet is an easy way to install a large area of absorbent material to a room . You can add absorption to a wall , but it may be challenging to get the surface area and therefore value required . Acoustic absorption coefficient values are published for common surface materials , and can then be averaged to meet the goal for your room .Too much absorption in a home isn’t usually a problem, too little can definitely be a problem .

If the 8000’s sound good in there , then It’s unlikely that the Cornwall’s will disappoint. That was a smart test .Those speakers are no wimps by any stretch and will play low with similar authority as the Cornwall. Of course a small room will sound different than a big one , but the laws of physics will apply equally regardless of speaker size .For example , I’ve heard Lascala’s played in a small room and they where very impressive, if you weren’t careful they could deviate your septum , “part your hair” , even split the atom ,( and who doesn’t want to split an atom every now and then) don’t worry about it and let us know how it works out .🤓

So you’re flanking your display with two center speakers ?, I did this several years ago , works pretty good. Have I unplugged my center ? No but I’ve listened with the left right “mains “ off and that’s also an eye opener . I agree that if you don’t have matching speakers, then it’s good practice to place the most competent speakers/ speaker at center . The center channel after all is the base channel in a multi channel HT system , I think a guy should strongly resist compromise at center .

What you say is an inconvenient truth of home theater. It’s sometimes difficult to put the correct speaker in at center , and when compromises are made , a fly is added to the ointment. The problem is that excellent mains become masked by the dominant center’s lesser quality/performance , bummer. Really good mains deserve a really good matching center.

I’ve found Heresy’s to sound excellent in small to large rooms, they will blend fine in a small room with their tight driver spacing , Cornwall is obviously a few times overkill ,but would likely also sound good . Big speakers in small rooms can work , but small speakers in big rooms , no dice 🤓

The surface material of an ICF wall like any other wall is very important . The sheet rock that you are planning to put over the ICF is an acoustically reflective material. I don’t believe you’ll have any problem with not enough reflection, zero problems. Don’t worry about your bass mysteriously vanishing into the walls, not going to happen.🤓
