  1. Whatever 🙄 I'm a forum veteran for whatever that is worth and as far as I know don't have much in common with PWK. At least you stopped posting 20 million videos every night.
  2. I shouldn't have to explain, but just for you.... Never said there was nothing good made in the 70s, try reading the quote again and pay special attention to the bold, there is equipment that is made today that is just as good and better than anything made then. Don't look for it in BB.
  3. Typical false blanket statement by someone stuck in the '70s.
  4. I sent a new member a PM and he was able to reply in our conversation, but he could not start a conversation.

  6. I understand that, but in a house at levels that won't cause hearing damage.......one claimed "Personally I tap out at about 115dbs usually for only a song and back to around 100-105 for some good jamming." I hope he was just joking. Probably sounds about the same as 80 - 85 for someone that has tried to protect their hearing over the years.
  7. Available on Yamaha.com and Crutchfield.
  8. Can you elaborate on this because I see a number of members posting about their megawatt amplifiers and how much better their Klipsch speakers sound with them.
  9. Why not? They work the same as a powered subwoofer with speaker inputs.
  10. I was using the OPs own post where he related what a reviewer said (and he asked for opinions). Low listening levels is not a silver bullet. If I had a dollar for every system that the owner thinks is fine, but actually....... FWIW I had a pair of 1980? H1s in a 12 x 14 room, but no thanks in my smaller room. If someone wants to put 20 pairs of speakers in a 10 x 10 room, have at it, just make sure you parallel/series if using one amplifier.
  11. H-IVs are over 1 foot deep + out from the wall 1 foot + 7 feet listening distance = 9 feet. Listening position against the back wall when listening = bad
  12. I have a room that size, I wouldn't even use a 3 way like the Heresy (perhaps a coaxial m/t 3 way) because of the short distance between speakers and listening position. As pointed out above, everyone has their own opinion and many will advise to cram whatever speakers they like (or dream about) in there.
  13. I have CWs and I'm working on some LSI splits, the CWs cutout is just under 4 3/16" w and the LSIs is 4 1/8" w (original top baffle board), whereas the tweeter horn flare is 4 1/4" w. Height is fine. Anyone know why they are not the same width as the horn? Is this something to be concerned about with the LSIs? Will making the LSIs opening wider change their sound much? Note, the original LSI 1/2" board is being replaced with a 3/4" board. Thanks, Lin
  14. I think someone is confused. Maybe Maynard can help. It is triode strapped with either tube.
  15. Steve started using the SED SV83/6P15P-EV because it is a video tube which he believes is better due to the extended bandwidth and speed. After trying it with the "mod" Mr. Hazen came up with, he liked them even more. Quote from Steve on his forum: "6P15P-EV have always cost a lot more than 6P15P."
