Thanks... [] it's pretty much bone stock (except the wheels which I'm swapping out for 15" rallyes this spring) so it's just got the I6... the V8 appeared in 64 but the convertible was dropped. Pity... ROb

Not the coolest, but the car I've enjoyed the most owning is my 63 Acadian Beaumont (Canadian version of the 63 Chevy Nova)... reliable and drivable... (photo i took in august without snow)

Even with it working... it's loud compared to what us "consumers" are used to, BUT relatively quite compared to some other commercial units. The link Speedball posted above was for a fan mod I did on one of my subwoofer QSC / JBL amps (I keep that one in-room) about 3 years ago, and the upgrade helped especially when cranking it a little as the fan switches to "high speed". No problems with overheating BTW.... For comparison, I also have a Behringer EP2500 running my IB in the HT... and that one's fan sounds like a little airplane.... so its simply kept it in a separate room. ROb PS: As a side note... I don't know if they still do, but Klipsch used to use QSC in their test labs...

Actually it's more resistant than most people think due to the varied natural colours hiding small imperfections... I've had it as well... for about 7yrs now without refinishing... so i'm pleased

No I haven't... probably because it's erroneous?. [] Vinyl records are limited by the RIAA curve with a high pass filter at 50Hz while CDs have no theoretical lower limit. The theoretical upper limit on CDs is half the sampling rate... which 44kHz / 2 = 22kHz on a CDa which normally passes through a low pass filter at 20kHz to avoid aliasing. As an interesting side note, moving from 10kHz to 20kHz in a single octave... same as going from 50Hz to 25Hz. ROb

I think the crux of the matter is which speaker best compensates your hearing deficiencies. I would even recommend using an EQ to compensate, as a measured flat response won't sound flat to you. I believe there was mention of this in a research paper by Floyd E. Toole... where they noted that in double blind tests, those with hearing deficiencies preferred speakers which were vastly different from those chosen by the general population as well as different from each other. In other words they preferred those which flattened their personal frequency response. Keep the Chorus.. but invest in a parametric EQ ROb

That room turned out great... the Danley really just disappears. No one would imagine the power you have discreetly hidden. And based on how pretty those Khorns are in real life... I wonder how much of the room detailing we are missing in the photos. As a side note... funny seeing 50" described as small... In recent month's I've been quite busy in a variety of activities pretending to be a socialite... so it did cut down my time to play with my toys... but I can't help but hear them calling... The IB has been one of the most significant upgrades on par with moving up to Khorns... how's it been working for you Carl? Although I haven't yet maxed them out... I do occasionally wish for a little more efficiency, esp now in winter. You see, when I push it a little more (yeah, yeah, I know... more than most), I've noticed that my voltage drops are greater now... possibly because most of my neighbourhood heats with electricity and my nearest transformer isn't up par. I still have to research it, but I do trip the 20A power unit more while I'm busy shaking pictures off the walls. I haven't played with the recent Room EQ Wizard, but John seems to have put quite a bit of work into it, and I like the fact that it interfaces with DSP1124P through Midi. I don't know if it's been changed, but one of it's drawbacks I recall is it doesn't compensate for PC noise by looping one channel back and subtracting it from the measurement. Mike, if you are bored... you could always compare it to the ETF demo... your opinion is always of interest... Wondering if Michael's not part of Klipsch's contingency plan concerning the need for NOS replacement Heritage parts... ROb

Drama queens?... let me guess... in the 2 channel forum? When's the pilgrimage this year? I recently got back from Peru... and should be going to Europe at the end of July. It was nice to drop everything and take a break to recharge. Haven't bought anything new (or used for that matter) since my last posts... so I still have a bunch of unfinished business in my HT. I did install an old PC in there, mostly for internet radio and testing... but no graphs yet as I'm getting an odd noise peak (tried the onboard, PCI, and USB soundcards). I have been watching quite a few movies and listen to pretty much all my music there as well. I didn't do my taxes yet... I always owe them money... so I hope things were brighter for you pauln... The depth is controlled by the K401, the height is controlled by squeezing all the drivers on the motorboard, technically leaving me only the width as a variable (still have to fit the K401's mouth in there too). Thing is I'm also very picky on appearances... and really want to have an even gap around this centre channel and my inwall recess.... so that's why I'm left with adjusting the volume with a filler in the box. Did you try the CW1526 in the same enclosure alignment as the Cornwall... or re-tuned according to the T/S parameters? I haven't compared the CW15 to these new T/S numbers... but it does seem to model similarly to the old square magnet K33 numbers supplied by eminence. It's one of the reasons I was tempted to leave the design (I used the late 70's volume and tuning) as is... and drop either a square magnet K33 or a CW15 into the enclosure. Bob, could you post the full T/S on the CW1526? I was missing Cms, Mms, etc... and i'm not keen on backward calculting those. BTW, I will probably hold up the back of the K401 using a brace running left to right and an L bolted to the horn and the brace. ROb

I haven't decided but I am also considering your CW1526 (sp?). I figured I can get the wood cut before getting the drivers as I prefer doing it outdoors to avoid to much dust inside my home. I wouldn't mind seeing your T/S measurements for the three... to compare to what I've collected. I have to agree that the round magnet K33 model's the weirdest so far... Thanks... water tested, huh.... remind me not to lend you any drivers you'd like to know the volume for... [] Design is pretty much done... and the only catch right now is my box is too big once i squeeze the K401 inside... but to small if split HF and LF bins. It would give me the opportunity to correct the Cornwall's bass hump, but that would also change the character and efficiency of the bass section (requiring a crossover mod). I haven't played with all the numbers yet, but I may keep it original and just use a wooden filler to reduce the volume by about 3ft3. BTW, what a large variance in K-33's T/S parameters posted in the past! ROb
