  1. I have never seen 0 deg, you all are not just cold , temps like that can be Dangerous. That's just crazy, Be careful ! What temp do you try to keep the inside the of the house when it's -10, -28 outside ? They have got to build houses differently up there for temps like that ?
  2. It looks great, and I like the color also. It looks like they did a good job in the long run. That's some very heavy stuff. I had to take out my aunt's when we had to gut her house after the storm, we had to break it up and it still took 2 people to carry each piece. Love the way that stuff looks, very clean looking without all the seams.
  3. Is this what your talking about. http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/thread/865024.aspx It's the only place I had seen anything and it was a joke.
  4. Sounds like it went well ! Glad to hear after all that work. I hope you invited some of them girlie's back for regular movie nights. [Y]
  5. Me too, over $1000 for a cdp is not going to happen here, not with my half dead ears !
  6. I know exactly what you are talking about we have a 65" 1080i Toshiba "old fashioned" CRT rear projection about 2 years old. Now if these greedy dish sat providers could get there shi* together and give us local channels in HD. Neither of the sat companies or local cable have HD locals in " our area" , our local cable has NO HD. Went with Dish network has the most HD by far in our area, and to far out for OTA. Superbowl in standard def today.[]
  7. I think for the most part the answer is YES, probably more with CD players than anything else in any setup, excluding wires / Cables and with those I would think a bigger YES. Not that there is not an improvement, but how much of an improvement for twice or ten times as much money. I would guess the improvement in price to performance difference is smaller than any other changes. Also there is much to be said for just a good match up of equipment I've heard it called synergy here alot, but some things just sound good together. After speakers , I would guess the recording has the biggest difference of anything. I could go listen to 10 CD's and hear about 5 different recording quality levels , just the way it is. And don't even start on how much difference a room can make. You would think with digital music there should be more of a standard of quality, but there doesnt seem to be any standard. Always,...IMHO
  8. Indy really went down there to DEFROST from the temps back home, big difference from 3 deg to 75. And 75 is a little cool for that area, must be all them people from up north defrosting in south Florida making the temps go down. Have fun Indy, back to the deep freeze next week .
  9. I had not heard Klipsch until about 4 years ago when I went to a dealer to listen. But when I found them on the Internet I knew I would like them, because I had been looking at Altec for 30 years. I seen some giant Altec in a old theater when I was younger and liked the sound of them, but never could find a dealer to even see if they made smaller versions. The ones I had seen were much bigger than a Khorn, if I can remember correctly it was more than twice as wide and taller, it was huge. At the time there was no Internet and I had no way to find out if they had home versions, but I loved the horn sound. Around 1975 I bought a book about speaker building and used it to build a pair of speakers, horn mid and high and 15" bass. I never thought about it until I first seen the Cornwall a few years ago. It was about the exact same size but not ported, and except for the ports could pass for a Cornwall with cheaper horn drivers. I had them until about 4 years ago when the horn drivers blew out and I had no use for them after finding Klipsch. I had kept them outside up 7' on a shelf on the patio to play into the side yard. I had always liked the Horn sound so I have no reason to look any further. Wish I had found Klipsch many years ago, it would have saved me money in the long run.
  10. Michael have a great time ! []
  11. The Rotel in the can, with tomatoes and peppers, Melt cheese and mix it all together , makes a great dip with some jalapenos. Sorry wrong Rotel !
  12. Done it for years, one year never got back anything so I gave up that BS. [] A waist of time for no pay !
  13. Well to start, Klipsch is famous for HORNS, and Efficiency, and of course a great live sound. Anybody else?
  14. In Hope last year I did not find a quiet room, unless quiet is 100 db's. [] Not complaining though.
  15. The only one I could have guessed was # 8, the way he is standing is Trey. I would not want to be Roy, when he finds this.
  16. Try this. http://www.cyclonecj.com/dtel/home/index.html
  17. I can hear Dean's Khorns calling....................OB........OB come save us, will work for watt's, hurry OB, we know you want us..........[:|]
  18. Just Google what you used as topic of this thread. There are a few different charts out there but they all do about the same thing. I think they all use the distance you would sit from the screen just looked it up the other day for a friend and he sat 9' to 10' away and it said 42" to 50" for a plasma, if i remember correctly.
  19. Just to get you warmed up a little here is a pic of some sitting on the floor of the plant, in the same finish as yours ! http://forums.klipsch.com/photos/pilgrimage_2006/picture751506.aspx They looked VERY NICE in person, you are going to be very happy.
  20. Two of the funniest post I seen on here in a while !
  21. That is crazy, it does look like fun though, I wouldn't try it.
  22. It's not the size of the room but probably where they are in the room or what else is the room, that makes more difference than just size. My room is 24' wide and 34' long and its no problem, now if I were to change furniture and flooring and rearrange the room it would probably sound completely different ?
  23. " I have tried every location that the wife will allow but the results are all the same," Are they about where you would like them for listening ? or does she have them somewhere that it couldn't possibly sound good, your not very clear on where they are in the room. If they are spread apart OK for where you sit maby try putting them up on something ( like a milk crate 12" ) temporarily, to see if it helps. Just a thought
  24. Nice choice, your going to love the way they look. Also they sound better than the older ones.
