  1. Boy that klipschdud/mason thing kind of has everyone needing to prove there gender. To tell the truth that was the first thing that crossed my mind to. Bee, don't be scared off they are many good people here they just like to joke around. Something got you to post what was it?
  2. Every job has some downfall, but your career is one that many people would love to have. about 30 years ago i wanted to do that. Took some classes and about half way through found out how hard it is to get started on your own and the expense. Did do a few weddings and engagement photos it was fun but to make a living at it took a whole lot more. Ended up doing some for free for people who had hired a pro just to compare the end results, I did better than i thought i would ,but it's hard to break into that line of work without a rep. Wish i would have stuck it out . You don't realize how lucky you are, good job, not 8 hours or more everyday, time off, good pay , you make many people happy with the end product, not even counting the bridesmaids and others you could meet ? [] Like the song " don't worry be happy " and of course stay out of trouble, the hard part.
  3. I had the 8080 years ago gave it away because the lights on the dial went out! It was the best i had till then and now i wish i had kept it it had a nice sound and alot of power, 80 watts i think but good quality. Paid $350 for it from a friend, it was about 6 months old , this was about 28 years ago i think ,just before i got married.
  4. Very nice , i always wanted to see them lined up like that. Hey here's an idea tie them in to the alarm system and scare the ears off any thief . I bet when you open up the garage and someone sees them for the first time they just stand their in shock. Michael when you find a nice lady you better pick one that likes audio but don't come with her own collection of speakers.
  5. Now thats what you really need a pair of Michael. You could always sell them if you don't like them , Nevermind i forgot who i was talking to. But they could almost complete the Heritage line you are building. Michael i hope your insurance company has all your equipment included on your policy because it is Way more then ' the average Michael' has, no kidding. Oh thanks Michael for the thought i wish i could, thanks anyway.
  6. That is a very nice piece of land and it's in TN, what more could ask for. I only heard Michael's Lascalas and i can they will sound great outside. My living room is 24' wide and 18' deep open another 16' so really 24' x 34' and the Lascalas could fill many many rooms this size with ease. It would be a great thing to do for your dad, but after you hear what they sound like outside you may want to do it for yourself . Just put a lounge chair out in the yard for you and your wife and sit back for a few hours and listen.
  7. I don't have alot about 25 but when i find one i like i get it if i can find it . I really need to find a place online for more variety.
  8. Yes i like Rave , I don't buy movies only concert dvd's. Rave gives me a chance to see concerts without buying them. If i see one on Rave i like ,mostly ''Soundstage" I will buy it. Concerts are like movies in a way, you never know if it's recorded well or if the picture is ok,i can put up with a poor video but not poor sound. I just watched one tonight Lyle Lovett ,not really my kind of music but the sound was really good, he was singing songs from different movies, also did a couple of songs with Randy Newman.
  9. Best one yet. Just a bump to see how crazy it will get.
  10. Thermostat could be sticking also, son in laws jeep overheated and boiled over, put water in it and it don't leak a drop. But when he drives it temp guage goes up to almost hot then drops and repeats that cycle. But if it sticks just a little to long it will boil over.
  11. Pathighgate : A strange thing happened to me yesterday. I replaced my older DVD player with a new one that could play SACDs. I was simply amazed. As I sat there listening to what was the best audio only recording played in my home, I realized something: This sounds so good, I don't think I could spend another dime and be able to tell the difference. I could drop $100,000 on new speakers, and to my ears it couldn't sound any better. I'm sure there are others out there with a more sophisticated auditory palette, but for me, this is it. I'm done. Purchasing new equipment for music listening would be pointless. Thankfully, the home theatre portion of this system continues to need new things (specially, a good subwoofer and satellite receiver). So it can end. Sort of." A slavish concern for the composition of words is the sign of a bankrupt intellect -Norton Juster Home Theatre: Yamaha RX-V800. 12. Please no pictures this time, thanks.
  13. Your right i would still be looking for a pair of ll's, but i could always use them for something else or sell them later. I made an offer if they were Forte ll's but i think they are Forte's. I am going to make a different offer if they are Forte and not II's.
  14. Very nice truck i would love to have something like that to pull my trailers around with. We now use a chevy 2500 but it is much older, 89 but it does have about 40,000 miles on it that helps. But that engine you have would make It pull like a 3500 / 1 ton.
  15. I have 4 Forte ll's and i have a chance to get a pair of forte's . I really wanted 6 of the same flavor, but would it make that much difference. The only real difference is the midrange k-61-k or K-53- k can you hear a difference? Not really worried about bass i also use a sub.
  16. I think you are right , when we got sat i was not to happy with the hd. Then i found out how to get into the menu and the installer had left it in the default setting even though i had told him i got the sat for hd and the tv will take 1080i. When i changed it to 1080i it was a big difference ,and hd movie channels were also much better. rptv / component cables / dish
  17. I got lucky my wife's birthday is Christmas day ! "Christy"
  18. If someone wins them and they need to be picked up asap or whatever let me know i am 30 min away, and could hold for a short while if needed. I won't steal your speakers, ask Michael, although i may cry when they are picked up.
  19. I forgot to answer you on the other thread about the sanatorium , I wish i could make it ,i think. That is one place i would ever go alone, it would be bad enough with a group. Please let us know what it is like , that is one huge and strange place.
  20. Maybe he's just REALLY in touch with his feminine side....[^o)] If thats the case i hope he goes somewhere else to touch it !
