  1. Thanks everybody that is what i thought. When i bought these about 2 years ago i knew it was about bottom of the line but it still sounded better than anything in that price range. I really had to talk the dealer in to those he wanted to sell me quintets,he also said synergy was not much different than the rf3,at the time i diden't know much about klipsch. After reading on this forum for 2 years i now know i should have bought a little at a time and been much happier. For the next move i think i would rather go heritage than ref, thanks again , of course more questions later after a little sales to the better half.
  2. Just a thought, how would 5 heresies sound compared to sb3 ,sc1 ,ss1 which i now have. In the longe run i wanted to switch to all heritage,or just get the ones i really want a little at a time.
  3. This is the first time i have ever read over 3 pages on this forum in under 2 min a new record here.

Most people only leave a an impression on very few ,family , friends at most. Mr Paul Klipsch left an impression on so many we will never know. He has to be very happy when he looks back at his life and all the pleasure he has given to so many. Happy birthday Mr Paul W Klipsch the legend in sound you see by the name Klipsch speakers is not about the speaker it is about you!
  5. Very funny but moon i have a very hard time trying to get my wife to read any post by you because she almost ruined the stool she was sitting on while looking for a ghost . lol i laughed for 10 min which did not help.
  6. Riding with the king ,BB King & Eric Clapton dvd a. Some very old some not so old , this is the best sounding dvd a or sacd i own. Another favorite i keep going back to is James Taylor October road sacd and his dvd concert Pull Over. The dvd concert Pull Over sounds very good and was under 15 dollars, makes you wonder why some are so much more.

  12. I don't post very often but i would like to on this topic. Their are very few companys that don't make cheap entry level products in their line , and fewer that don't send out the cheaper lines , But Klipsch still makes and sells some of the best you can buy made in the USA. You can still buy the best made here if you choose .
  13. Was just thinking how would a mini klipschorn sound, about 24" tall 8 or 10 inch bass ? Would they sell being much cheaper then the real thing ? Just thought it would look and sound different than any bookshelf speaker out their.
  14. This is dtel's wife. Our oldest daughter recently (1/25/05) purchased a 65" Toshiba from BB for my husband. This is what happened: I contacted BB to confirm price on television with Internet pricing. (closest BB to our home is 35 miles one way) Salesman advised he had one 65 inch Toshiba in an "open box". Said lady purchased same and it was too big for her entertainment center. We went to the store, paid for the TV, and inquired about extended warranty. Salesman (different from telephone salesman) advised if we didn't purchase extended warranty with purchase, we could purchase warranty within thirty days, however we would have to bring the TV back to the store, for an employee to inspect and make sure it was working. Did not purchase extended warranty at sale time. After paying we noticed a service slip attached to the store's paperwork for the TV saying the TV had been serviced because the "Unit was shutting itself off." I inquired about the paper and the salesman said the unit had been serviced in the store, but because we didn't purchase the extended warranty we would have to rely on the manufacturer's warrantly and we would be responsible for shippping the unit to the manufacturer.????? My daughter and I left to do some shopping at another store. My husband and a friend remained behind to have the TV brought out and loaded onto our truck, because delivery would take a minimum of three days. No way, my husband was gonna wait three days, he would rather go 45 on the interstate and get it home the same night....anyway... My daughter and I arrive home about an hour after my husband. He had unloaded the television and brought it inside. Then he tells me..."When they brought the TV out it was not in a box, it was wrapped in plastic. And by the way, there was no manual and no remote." and "There is some very slight damage on the chassis.(a 2 inch tear in the black fabric covering, all the way at the bottom, right in the middle) He did go back in the store, salesman said "I wasn't the one who made the sale, I just rang it up." The salesman handed him a remote (slightly damaged) and said "it will take me two hours to download a manual and I don't have time for that, you can download it yourself off the internet." By this time I was very angry. It was 8:43 p.m. I tried to call the store. The recording said the store was closed. Supposed to be open until 9:00 p.m. Called corporate service 1-888-BB was given case number and was asked to give the manager a chance to correct the problem. Corporate did advise that the extended warranty could be purchased at any time within thirty days and no I did not have to bring the TV in to the store, also advised that manufacturer's warranty provided in home service. Called local BB next morning 1/26/05, assistant manager took call, told me corporate has control over their phone lines and the recording being changed to closed was corporate's fault. Agreed to print a manual and give a $100 in store credit. She further advised that I would have to bring the TV in before being allowed to purchase extended warranty. Called corporate back they advised extended warranty could be purchased within thirty days at the store and that I could even purchase it over the phone from them. Also advised that each store has their own phone system and complete control of that system lies with the store. Big surprise, right. By this time I was really furious, because my whole point with corporate and the asst. manager was that I felt deceived, about the television, warranty etc. When I could no longer control my anger yesterday I called the local BB and spoke with the manager. He told me that yes, the store does have control over the phones and that someone could have "accidentally" changed the recording. Wrong answer. and ... he tells me that yes in fact that store's policy is that the item must be brought back for inspection. Wrong answer again. Since I am not sure that the phone could have been accidentally turned off, I let that go. On the extended warranty issue I informed him that I had spoken with corporate twice about this matter and twice they told me that the store must sell me the extended warranty within thirty days, sight unseen. He changed his tune. I informed him that I was trying to be fair, my daughter felt like she had purchased a "reject gift" for her dad and I was sick of being lied to. He issued another $100 in store credit. Paid $1899.00 plus tax - $200 in store credit - $60 reward card points = $1639.00 price to date. Now, tonight 1/27/05 we download a copy of the manual, (still haven't made it to store to get credits or the manual they printed) and we realize that the remote they gave us will not allow access to most of the options that put this TV in the top three we would want to purchase. I have not informed manager of this yet. Should I tell him I want another in store credit, just ask for a remote???? Tired of being deceived. Not sure, what to do. I don't want to seem like I am a greedy person, but I am rather disgusted with the whole situation. We are extremely happy with the TV in general, have had no problems. We are all thrilled because we don't have to watch dtel hold the tape measure across the old TV every night to show us the size of the new TV he wants and our grandchildren (ages 3 and 4)are no longer stopping traffic in Wal Mart to pick pennies off the floor to give to Paw Paw to save for the big TV. Intend to purchase extended warranty and probably would have bought the unit anway if they (local BB) would have been honest. Any comments, opinions, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    special dad

I am dtel's wife. Just wanted to let all of you know that he is such a special dad. Our oldest daughter, (we have three) wanted to buy her dad a new television. Him and our two grandchildren had been saving "pennies" for a "big TV" as the three and four year old call it. The grandchildren had been collecting pennies from around the house, the floor of Wal-Mart, their great grandma and anywhere else they could find pennies. Well, we made the purchase last night, of course we had not saved nearly enough pennies. LOL A 65" Toshiba with all the "perks". And for all of you out there WAF is "Whatever daddy wants, daddy gets!" Really, he is so thrilled, as we say "You couldn't slap the smile off of his face." LOL Actually, we all got tired of seeing the tape measure go across the existing television to show us what size he wanted his new TV to be... Not really, he's a great dad and a great husband and he really does get whatever he wants. Will post again when I get more time. Quite a story to tell about BB, (where we purchased the TV) and a few of their "salesmen". You all can congratulate him now if you like.
  16. Fish is right watched it last night, VERY GOOD. The outside of the box says Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround but when you play it it also gives you the choice of DTS which is what i used last night. The sound and picture is as good or better as any i have and it is not just a concert they interview almost everyone that plays , it is almost like a story about the blues. I can't belive how good it is the talent can't be beat. Even if you arent crazy about the blues it is worth having just for the talent on guitars and some of these people are old and this may be the last record of them playing at least together. Almost forgot it is a 2 disk set and not just music on one and extras on the other. ok i will stop talking now, just was very suprised.
  17. What do you think of your projector?Never heard much,or anyone else this is my queston. Now i have a 32" tv and in the next few months would like to get something larger at least 50 52 57 or maybe front projector . Besides a price range of $2000 or less the price of this size hdtv is coming down.A projector coulden't be used for every day viewing and a rptv is at least 50" smaller than projector < size or volume > ? From reading here i think most have rptv, would you do it again. at todays prices very close for either choice. thanks
  18. Born and raised in Louisiana now live in Picayune,Ms. Wife and i own and run a landscaping company, about 12 years now. One thing about having your own company is the more free time you have the less money you make. But after working alot of hours at different jobs before doing what i really wanted to the free time to do what we want is PRICELESS !!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS

    Boz Scaggs

Boz Scaggs greatest hits live DVD ,seen it at BB last night and gave it a try. Many years ago had some of his music on vinyl and remember listening often, but really could only think of one or two songs from back then. The DVD is dated 2004 the recording is as good as any and was more of a blues , jazz sound than i recall but very good. Taped live at Great American Music Hall, San Francisco,a very small hall compared to most music i have on DVD. < here on forum daily, read almost all post just don't post often >
  20. I have a room that is 23' wide and 18' deep. The tv sits in the center of the 23'wall,their is a 6' space with 6' windows on each side of that 6' space and about 2' feet from windows to each corner. The only two places i can put the front two speakers is 6'feet apart in the 6'opening or in the corners which i would like to do. Would them being in the corners almost 23' apart cause to many problems with the sound, they are not khorns but Sb3s. The seating area is the center to the rear of the the room. -------window 6 foot------tv---------window 6 foot------- thanks
  21. This may help, we do landscaping and irrigation. Their is a wirenut style connector tha has grease built in to it and a special type end to hold it in after the wires are connected. The name is DRYCONN waterproof connections, the ones i use are black and hold #22 to #12 AWG. The work VERY WELL , i use them to connect low voltage solonoids in the ground, i have found them flooded under a few inches of water and never lost a connection and it is only 24 volts. Also the grease is easely wiped off if the connector is removed, hope this helps.
