  1. I don't think you save money with the higher priced models but you you come closer than you would think. We have had the front load models for about 4 years now and it uses very little water which I don't really care about ( well water). But where you save more is in electricity, these machines hold about twice as much clothes as the older machines plus does it faster. Also you use just a couple tablespoons ( a guess) of soap and the washer spins so fast the clothes feel barely damp when they are done washing. They have many different settings or you can just throw in the clothes in both machines and it will weigh them and set themselves. The first time we used the washer I thought something was wrong with it is was spinning so fast i thought it would fly apart, it sounds like a quiet jet engine . The only reason I know all this is because I washed clothes (towels) for my first time about two weeks ago, they had to show me how. [:$] Your probably right about the cost of repair these had a 5 year warranty and when it runs out I don't want to know the price when it breaks.
  2. Thanks for the pics, it's going to feel like more the trip you were expecting now that your on your own. Enjoy yourself, this is a trip of a lifetime, people talk about a trip like this and most never do it, have fun and be safe.
  3. I don't know the answer because my room is wider than deep. [*-)] But let me ask a question, if you room is skinny I would think side surrounds would be harder to get right than rear surrounds. I say this because the sides would be very close to the seating position compared to rear where you would have more room. Have you tried your side speakers in the rear to see how it sounds, it may give you the sound your looking for ? This is all just a guess. [] []
  4. And I thought I was cheap ! [] Great deal at about 70% off, and you come out looking like a hero also sounds like it was worth the wait. [Y]
  5. I love that bottom right hand side tag line ! [Y] The first poster is my favorite. That's the kind of advertising they should use, don't be so laid back get out there and tell the Truth ! []
  6. I will know by this weekend hopefully, the D 75 is 35 WPC which on paper should work ok for inside, but until you try it there's no telling. I got a good deal on these, 2 D 75's both for $225 plus 35 shipping. I never tried them I hope they work! []
  7. If you had a way to listen to either of those you would probably be very happy and also save your self a LOT of money by buying used ( the only way to buy these ). For that matter if either of these come up for sale local to you just buy them and if your not happy with them resell for the same money or more depending on how much you pay, either pair should go for $500 or less in very nice shape used. And you hardly ever hear anyone say something bad about these two. [Y]
  8. I was just reading about that the other day and they even had a drawing of which leads to move to another, probably moved the to the ground to -- side, If I have a problem I will go back and try to find the diagram. I hope that's not the case I am not crazy about soldering in small tight spaces with tiny wires, I have enough problems soldering something big and ugly. It's going to be in this order Pre amp to EV DX38 ( 2 Rca to XLR ), into 2 Crown D 75's ( 4 XLR female to XLR male ), I am hoping with only 1 change from one style plug to another I don't get any hum, but we will see.
  9. It would be two different sets of speakers one run with preouts and different amps and the other connected normally to the Yamaha, hopefully controlled by the A-B switch or maby the preouts and turning off both A-B. What I will try first is just using the preouts and 2 Ch button, then go from there and see what is lets me do as far as the A B buttons do. I don't think It would hurt anything just more speakers may play than what I wanted and a switch box may be needed to disconnect the HT front L R ? I am giving myself a headache thinking about this and it all really depends on how the receiver is configured. I will find out at the end of the week when I have the rest of the wires and the Dx 38 here, then I can start frying/connecting everything ! I had to order some XLR male to female and XLR to RCA, Michael you know this commercial stuff is a whole different animal when it comes to wires ! [:^)]
  10. Ok when I don't press one of the A-B buttons, the front L & R does not play just the center and rears play. So if I don't press either and press the direct 2 Ch button ( turning off the other speakers) right now nothing plays but if I had another amp plugged into the L & R pre out would that cause a signal to the pre out ? If it does it would work. I was hoping to use it as a preamp without disconnecting the wires going to the Ht mains or the wires going to the other amp every time I wanted to use the Ht speakers or play 2 Ch at least until I get a real preamp which will be a while.
  11. I have a Yamaha RX-V730, it has preouts for all channels. The question is it has an A-B button on the front for two sets of speakers, I use A for the front two for HT. I wanted to use this Receiver for a second 2 ch setup as a pre-amp only. If I were to plug in the wires to the amps into the pre outs does that work off of A or B, or whatever you have the button pressed to ? I don't have everything here yet to set it up so I can't just try it, just thought I would ask ? When I have speakers on both A and B whichever one I press or both works when in Ht mode that's what made me ask. The book only says the normal connection for the speakers still works when the preouts are used, thats all it says. I doubt it would work but I was hoping I could use A for Ht and B for the 2 ch with Pre out's. Sorry it's not easy to explain what I am talking about.
  12. I might have to get some of those. Never noticed the fugly things ![]
  13. DU73......sounds wonderful. Call the next time and if I'm in the neighborhood...... I wish I was in the neighborhood....because I would be in Australia ! [ip] That does sound good I love Italian sausage, I would have never thought about adding pumpkin ! But I am willing to try anything except liver or other organs ! [+o(]
  14. Where are you at, they may have someone you could go audition a few models ? If I were you I would not buy anything until you can listen to a few models, you can't tell anything about how a speaker sounds from numbers !
  15. Had to drag this thread up again. Pork loin cut into 2" thick steaks with a slot cut to make a pocket, then stuffed with plenty of fresh garlic and grilled slowly, also fried breaded eggplant and some leftover green beans with bacon and liquid smoke. With some strawberry daiquiris to help make the cooking more fun.
  16. Just did one of the pic's so you can get a better idea.
  17. Nice pic of little Joe, wait till he can walk and reach knobs. []
  18. I have been thinking about asking the same thing for the last week, just kept forgetting. There must be some on line places with fair prices and a good selection, hope you get some good answers.
  19. [] Nevermind, that makes sense !
  20. Nope no problems with credit cards, don't have any they scare me ! [:#]
  21. [:|] Bruce if you lost #145 you would be a skeleton, a thin one ! [] When I last seen you you were not fat at all, [:$] although it has been a few years. []
  22. Nice idea, looks good also, Grandmother would be jealous !
  23. Looks good that screen makes the 402's look not so big, serious setup you have going there, congratulations. After you get everything adjusted for 2 ch a little of the subs, just to fill below where the LaScalas drop off may work, might be worth trying ? Looks Killer ! [H]
