That was not the answer I was expecting [] I can see it now Michael and P Thump standing behind the mixing board and the kid playing the guitar hits the first note and the whole audience falls back on there chairs and crawl for cover holding there ears and everyone in the first 3 rows lose most of the hair from there arms and face from the flames shooting from the speakers. Maby a slight exaggeration but you two sound dangerous together, really it's a good thing y'all don't have access to unlimited equipment and amps......birds would be falling dead out of the sky from shock.

Well really only one person has to be impressed. Also it's pretty rare that something is set up and really sounds good right off, it usually takes a while and a little playing with to get where it should be. The other thing is everyone came from all over to be there and had a long weekend then went back home, probably not back to there normal schedule yet, you just woke up and were there.

I think you got it, anyone else would take anything that looks valuable, If your breaking into a house after jewelry take anything you can sell. Maby Paris Hilton did the job and only likes those brands, a criminal would take anything and not bother to put things back in place. Sounds like the husband didn't want her to notice anytime soon ! I would think a good detective would start with there personal financial records in a case like this ?

I thought it would be nice an all McIntosh setup is something you don't get to hear often, although expensive McIntosh holds it's value. I still can't get over all that power, I know those speakers are made for those amps but that's alot of power, how many volts does that work out to be, no zip cord there. I'm happy for JC that's a really nice setup, sounds great and is nice and clean not a pile of components, and looks great, the only downside is everything is very very heavy especially the amps.

Well..uh...some us resemble that remark, anyway all they have to do is read a little to get the true picture. Most here have complete setups in more than two or three rooms and can measure there speakers in hundreds of pounds and have traveled around the country collecting them.....yep were normal. FM I meant from the volume knob. I've had older gear that have had lots of static when you turned the volume knob or other knobs. I think he meant Steely Dan, ...............no static at all....fm [8]

Ok after all this stalling we need to know how did the new Cd player sound with the all Mac setup ?

After reading all of this I really feel like the pig I am ![] I had left overs from last night, pork chops, breaded fried eggplant and mashed potatoes, and it was as good as last night .

What happened was my wife was going to bid for another forum member on that huge setup and was also looking at anything she could get at a good deal. The guy from California bid on a couple of "lots" at they called it and won with a fair price for what he got and there was one other pair of RB-75's off to the side with a few other things and the bidding had moved on to other things. Later when they got back around to the last few things, she bid on the last pair, I don't know what happened except that maby the guy auctioning didn't remember how much the first ones went for or even cared and almost no one was left bidding so she got them for a STEAL, new in the box unopened. We were looking for something for my daughter as she said she wanted some speakers for her bedroom. She is not a kid, she is 30 years old and been around many really good Klipsch speakers for a long time so we knew she would not be happy with just anything. I don't want to make you sick but they were a steal, we would have bought them even if we didn't want them, for that price. [Y]

? When In tried them I had them setting on top of some Cornwalls in a bedroom with a CD player and an HK 930 for power and they sounded very good and had plenty of bass. That would have put them about 1.5 feet from the corners of the room which being in corners could have helped them also ? It was not Cornwall bass but it was nice and tight and had a very smooth sound overall, I was impressed considering I don't care for the RF line overall, just prefer those old style big boxes with big ole horns. Glad it's getting there, don't thank me I just repeating things i read hear and tried, everyone goes thru these different problems. You said your open to further suggestions, so here's a fun one.. Put in your favorite music turn down the lights, now set only the left channel playing, now bring in two great looking blonds and sit on the sofa and after a while you will not even notice only half the speakers playing........see it's all in your head ! []

Somethings not right if you not getting much bass. see if you can check the wires inside and also if they don't have one crossed making the pair out of phase ? how close are they to the back wall ?

OK I said that because they say if your backed up directly to the back wall your brain knows there is no space behind you and makes the illusion of rear effects harder to sell to your brain. I didn't realize the sofa was a couple feet from the back wall, maby try temporally moving the speakers to the rear. I have even heard in small rooms people have put the speakers on the ground behind the sofa firing up and reflecting of the back walls to try to give a more spacious sound. Also sometimes some of the DSP's settings in the receiver can give more or less spaciousness. No matter what you have to do as long as it sounds good for your room that's all that matters. When I had WDST speakers I had them on the rear walls because it was my only choice and it sounded good, I would think it does not really matter because they are designed to direct sound in both directions, there nicknames are " sound sprayers".
