  1. That's not how they look at it, to most of them it is worth something and it does pay off if done correctly, most of these girls will be "working" these superficial values most of there lives to get what they want, or who they want to be with $, you see it every day it is there self worth. I am not saying it right, but it is the way it is, and always will be. EDIT, I had to edit this because I see Fini posted,........Ask Mrs Fini she only married him for his looks, Fini works hard at keeping up that model look, it's a tough job, you would not believe what he goes through to look like that everyday ! [H]
  2. I think it's just the new tips that are tender and die easily, when collecting we just cut off the stalks and planted the roots when they were really tall, it doesn't take much of a root to survive.
  3. Fini you are nuts, your wife deserves a trophy or medal or something ! [] Winchester sorry to hear about that, good thing it didn't take any speakers with it, it could have been much more expensive. Although from all the testing, and trying things out you have a real good idea what you like and don't like, that alone is a big plus, many people never get to that point. Glad you were there to get everything under control. [Y]
  4. Want your state to have a better chance in a beauty pageant ? They could buy her some new silicone but they couldn't get her to keep her mouth shut about controversial issues. I don't think we are expected to judge them for there brains anyway, if so why a swimsuit part of the show ? What they should have is a surprise candid pic of them 5 seconds after they wake up, that would be the best part of the show. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30495983/
  5. Engaged would be a step down at his age, engaged as in stuck together would be better ! []
  6. Don't forget the cruise ships that are each bringing 3000 or so people per boat back and forth to Mexico each week.
  7. Did that a few years ago but it was hanging out the back of a truck. Went collecting/looking for clumping Bamboo to put down a property line and ended up with 4 different kind but only 2 were clumping. One was about 1.5 inches thick and about 40' tall and the other was about 3/4" thick and 30' tall we had more of the smaller one so I put it into pots and divided it until I had enough for what I needed to cover. After looking on line at prices we decided to try and find some and get pieces to propagate, it was anywhere from $20 to a few hundred for a 3 gallon pot of Bamboo and there are over 300 variety's. I found out why it is not cheap, try digging some up ( without equipment ), the roots are harder to cut than the tops are. It's been a couple of years now and most of the property line Bamboo is doing very well. I love the way the running Bamboo looks when it covers a large area, I like when there are trails/paths through it. There is a nice patch of what they called River Bamboo in Cherokee NC we found that has trails with benches where you can just sit and look. it's right on a river. If I had enough property I would love to have something like that.
  8. Well Congratulations Dochopper, from Michaels title I thought you got yourself a new girlfriend or something, but it's only about post count ! [] A new girlfriend or two would be much more fun than another post ! []
  9. Not really, it was a 24 month old baby from Mexico who was visiting relatives but resides in Mexico.
  10. No I don't have it, but that picture makes me want BACON ! [*-)]
  11. JC tends to do that, He is like the Audio Godfather....but in a good way ! I am glad you got them Bruce your going to love it, when people hear about something like this they think LOUD, it's not about loud, it's about how BIG they sound at all volumes. Glad to hear about this, you have been talking about something like this for a while now. [Y]
  12. Not a problem in the house but they are in the yard.
  13. So if you have a mouse problem when you leave for work everyday you should put some Metal music on a loop for the mice, it should cut the population in half really quickly. The next step after half of the mice are gone is to play some Marie Osmond, John Tesh, Barry Manilow or anything close to this, that should cause the rest of the mice to kill themselves or leave.
  14. Welcome.....and yes there are dumb questions [] but feel free to ask them because i have already asked 95 % of the dumb questions and got the answers, I may have missed a couple so go for it ! [Y]
  15. It's very simple ....." if you have to ask that question, the answer is NO " Nice story and you did pretty good with the WAF " wife acceptance factor ", but the answer is still no, your not done ! I don't claim to be normal BUT to give you an idea of how bad it can get, we just moved our Cornwalls into the bedroom because we put much bigger speakers in the living room, a little bigger than 3 or 4 Cornwalls for each channel bigger ! It was the wife's idea ! [Y]
  16. Thanks Trey, I will try that and see how it sounds. I just need enough to get her started ......then she can get off some $ and buy some real Klipsch. She lived here with us until her house was being built, I think I burnt her out on speakers, but now she is in the house and has NO speakers. EDIT; I built one cabinet to see how much of a difference it would make, and you were right, WOW what a difference. I am sure I can pass these off to her to get her started. Thanks Trey.
  17. Well that makes it easier to understand as to how the do the rating, I would rather have the all channels driven and not just one channel at a certain frequency for measurements. I thought when you have 2 channels with one amp, and only one channel working it can use power the other channel is not, to a degree. The EIA rating would really be misleading in a amp that has 7 channels, I would think the more channels the amp is the more the rating could be misleading, considering one or two channels could eat up much of the amp and leave little power for the rest of the channels. I like the way you gave the comparisons, I would rather have lower wpc and have it a more accurate as to what the performance will be, or for me to understand an amps true performance at least. Thanks for clearing that up for me, I never understood how much of a difference the two rating systems really were.
  18. I had the same idea for my sister, I have 5 R 2650 CSM in ceiling speakers, I was going to put the 2 rear speakers in the ceiling but the front 3 in some type of cabinet/box. But I think that model is an IB speaker ? What if I put it in a box but left the back open or mostly open ? She just want something for movies and a little music and would probably never get much volume going anyway. I just thought abut that model because I already have them, or are they not worth messing with ?
  19. Yes I only have the one Shiva, I will try to find the numbers for that driver.
  20. You should have no problems getting lucky for $200 ! [:|]
  21. Not that I think you are "sub" people ! [] I have a DIY sub from a few years ago, it works fine. I had Dr Who go over the numbers from the driver and amp with the cabinet size and he said it all matched up fine, this was a good while back. It's a Shiva 12" with a 250 w AVA amp in a 5 CF ported box, tuned to 18.1. I have added more/bigger speakers and I need some room so the question is can I put this amp, driver and port in another shape or a cylinder with the same inside volume 5 CF and keep the same kind of results ? I really don't want to use another speaker or driver because I have not finished the other speaker project, I still need about $2000. in stuff to finish that. I was just hoping I could use another shape or something tall to save me some floor space. In the long run I would like to find a taped horn design that would be designed something like the Danley. I would have room for something tall.
  22. " Honest oppinions please! Good or Bad. " Well honestly it looks like you will need a mantle to hold the mantle, it will be heavy. Really it looks good and a nice design , not the plain old straight boring mantle. [Y] Better find a FEW studs.
  23. Well congratulations for even trying, it sounds like it's working keep it up ! I need to start myself, I need to clean up the workshop to get to the exercise machine. Doing some exercise makes me feel better and I get more active overall, I tend to slightly cut back on the eating, not really a diet just cut back a little. Although I feel like I am in no shape to exercise ! I am 6' 3" and 277 ,I usually gain weight in the winter, so it's time to lose some ! [:'(]
  24. Never had any luck at any thrift stores but the other day at a bankruptcy auction my wife got a pair of RB 75's for $ 30.00 NEW in the box. I opened them myself to try them out because I had never heard the RB 75's but I had heard good things about that model. I was very surprised how the sounded for a large bookshelf speaker, they are almost the size of a Heresy, and a very nice sound and bass from a bookshelf speaker. There back in there box now with about 30 min of play time on them, they will be for my daughters room I guess, first RF series we have ever had.
