Kain
When I bought my new Klipsch Reference Series 7 speakers from my local Klipsch dealer back in 2002, he told me these speakers were handmade. Is this true? If so, are the newer References Series, such as the RF-83, also handmade?
J.4knee
If they are made in Hope the answer is yes, cannot say for products made in China.

Klipsch Employees Trey Cannon Posted February 18, 2009 Klipsch Employees Share Posted February 18, 2009 Yes Sir, both the RF-7 and RF-83 are but together by hand. We use pneumatic clamps to hold some of the cabinets together while the glue dries. The wood is cut with CNC and other tools. Glue blocks and Khorn “bits” are still cut by hand. That has been part of Frank’s job for many years. Everything is hand sanded with an orbital sander. The finish is applied with a hand held paint sprayer. Large vents carry the overspray to a capture tank. Karen repairs any blemishes found on the cabinets. (as she has for 30 years, she started when she was 3 The front of the RF-7 went through a 27 or so step process of filler and sanding then paint and baking. Yea, they are still built by hand and those hands are owned by a bunch of talented folks.

Islander
Would it be true to say that all speakers are handmade? After all, they don't pop out of a machine fully formed. Someone has to cut and assemble the cabinets, then install all the components in the cabinets, no matter where the production line is.
