colterphoto1
Prof- in the Updates Forum I asked about stripping the paint of the aluminum. Mike Hurd suggested Scotchbrite, rags and lacquer thinnner- and lots of fresh air. Worked like a champ. See that thread for photos of before and after. IndyKlipschFan
Here are 2 without trim too. Nice! Mine in the HT look like this. Some with a rectangle top, some with a v shaped top!

Coytee
Hello I am interested in buying K-400 Horns Before you do, put a search out on "JubeScala" or perhaps "Vtrac" and read up. This of course, presumes you'd like to improve the sound of the LaScalas and not simply take them back to stock.
Bill H.
Michael, Very beautiful photos and you do excellent repair work. Have you ever thought of becoming a Klpsch Classic Speaker Repair Man ? You have two very unique talents.............Congrats.
colterphoto1
Thanks Bill. I was hoping to be assistant curator of the Klipsch Museum, restoring all those lovelies from Hope. But someone had other plans...

molaw
Hi, all. I'm a complete newbie to the forum and to owning Klipsch. I just picked up a pair of blond La Scala Industrials (originally with the idea of re-selling), and when I plugged them in to test whether they worked, I sort of fell in love with them. My wife, whom I love MUCH more than the speakers, is coming around to the idea of rearranging virtually everything else in the family room to make room to keep them. I took a few pictures of them. As you can see, they have good bones, but a lot of scratches and scrapes. My next posts are likely to be asking the wisdom of this group about how to touch up those dings without doing harm to the underlying sound. I've got a gallery of pics here. I am also trying to post one with this message. As I said, first-time poster, so please forgive me if I'm using the wrong fork, so to speak. G.Kennedy
Wow ... nice find ... the natural wood LSI's ... while not totally rare ... are pretty hard to come by ... where did you find them. Don't worry too much about the scratches ... just run them for awhile .... maybe rehab the crossovers. What are you gonna run them with?? Welcome to the madness.
