smokarz
very nice...i am looking to do something similar to my basement to create a roughy 15x28 movie room. but, of course just don't have the time nor cash right now.
White_Hawk
Wow - that looks pretty good, it will be very nice with the 60" plasma! I thought I had read on these forums that having 2 speakers handling center channel (or was it any channel?) would result in some negative effects...? wuzzzer
Lol at the little TV. Do you have two more Heresys hidden as surrounds somewhere? I think the fact that you have the Heresys so close together will lessen any negative effects from having two center speakers.
Islander
That should sound real fine and it's not like "every other" Heritage HT, so that adds interest. Have you checked out the sound and found that's the best spot for the sub? Quite often, the spot that seems logical and convenient may excite room modes and give you annoying peaks and dips, so it's often a trial and error process to get the sub where it sounds best. NOZ
Thx all. I just got the sub so still experimenting with it. It's so big there's not alot of choice where to put it. The thought of building a false wall has crossed my mind. We'll see. Here's a good pick of the 140 lb monster.
NOZ
Here's the other surround built in to the wall.
j-malotky
NOZ, Its been a while. I am concerned about having dual speakers stacked. Especially in the midrange. Having two drivers doing the same thing can cause comb filtering since both drivers may not react exactly the same. Say one is slighly stiffer and reacts slower, or say your crossovers are off a tad. Looks like your opening is big enough for more options if needed. Wecome back. Maybe we could go cause hell over at the AVS forums again [] Good times..... Islander
If you mount the surround speakers higher, you may get better treble response, plus surround effects are usually meant to come from a higher level, which is why it's usually recommended to mount them about 5-6 feet above the floor. NOZ
Hey guys thanks for the responses/ feedback. Still have lots of room for tweeking and experimenting. JM, it has been a while. We'll have to get crafty and pull something on those guys again. Maybe sometime this winter when we are not so busy. Cheers

kyle bermingham
Looks great. I noticed in your profile pic you had previously had La Scalas. How do the Heresys compare?

Moderators dtel Posted February 22, 2010 Moderators Share Posted February 22, 2010 Well done, nice and clean looking, how's it sounding.
NOZ
Thanks all. Kyle-they are like mini LaScala's. Not quite as breath-taking, but still sharp and accurate. dtel-sound is awesome, still some tweaking to do which takes a fair bit of time. I've balanced all the surround modes, but still need to set up the sub at the as close to perfect x-over point. It's is definately an experience watching and hearing a movie at reference level.
