I can find one for around $150

Ok....now don't get your hopes up. I've only seen that price once and it was even in fantastic shape. Typically, they are much more than that.

Why not put your TV on top of the RC-7? That would put the horns almost in line with each other and would just raise your TV up a bit.

I wouldn't have any problem placing the RC-7 on top of your entertainment center. The best placement for the center would be to put your TV directly on top of it. The RC-7 would have no problem supporting the weight of the TV.

Given the choice of anything besides the RC-7, I will have to say find an RC-3(if it will fit). Have you actually measured the space your center will fit? Will it need to be tilted up or down or level? How far is your seating position from your TV?

Well, our entertainment center is about 7.5' high, and our ear level is about 35", so it would be pretty darn high. Could it be that high and be aimed down that much? It would almost have to be at a 45-degree angle to be aimed at our ears.

Yes it can be high and aimed down. Talk to Youthman about his RC-64 being up high and tilted down. I have heard it and I can't tell it is not coming from the center of his screen.

I was going to suggest that but did not know how much room you had in your entertainment center. It will work and work well. You could also buy a TV riser like this one if you felt more comfortable.

I don't know if the dimensions are perfect but you get the idea. Maybe a custom one?

Look, it's black also.

Edit: These dimensions will not accomodate the RC-7 but maybe an RC-3.

Since the RC-7 is only 1db more sensitive than the RC-3, I think I'll look for the RC-3 because of its smaller size. Looks like I could find one for about $125 or so. If it won't work with the TV sitting on top, I could always put it up high and aim down.

Thanks everyone for steering me in the right direction!

I have an RC-3 that I am letting a friend borrow and in our bedroom we have the bookshelf version of the RF-7s (RB-75s) with the RC-7 sitting on top of our armoir, tilted down and think the latter center channel would be hands down a sonically better option with RF-7s....Fwiw, alot of RC-7s have been sold between LR and DFW and that is where I would start with a WTB ad....My 2 cents and good luck.

I realize that this is linked to an old thread but am curious how the RC-64II would mate with a pair of RF-7s and if it's an even better match than its predecessor, the RC-7? Hmm {Note: Mr Phillips is talking about the original RC-64}

http://community.klipsch.com/forums/t/78287.aspx?PageIndex=2

Having spent 3 months with beta Ref IV up front I had the chance to A/B my RC-7 to the RC-64.

My front end is RB-75's, I now have the RC-64, the blend across the front is now seamless. With the RC-7, I could tell the difference and had noticed it before the RC-64 even came out...

We will be upgrading our monitor sometime before the end of the year and wonder what I would need to change (if anything) in my Front Soundstage to get the seamless match I've experienced for the last decade in my Klipsch Library Home Theater. [^o)] (Note: Listed below)

tdkamerica, yeah, that's what I meant, with a concern of RC-64 II being 'timbre matching' with RF-7 in my post of 'Tue, Jul 26 2011 9:06 PM', as I haven't heard RF-7 and RC-64 II combination and to ask Amy or Klipsch Representative (Technical Specialist) to throw light on this subject. Although, there is another post in this thread where FishFry has mentioned that he hasn't noticed any issue when mated RC-64 II with RF-7.

I saw that post and am glad he didn't have any issues, but feel either the RC-7 or RC-64ii would have sounded better than the RC-3 between RF-7s. Insofar as what the klipsch "technical specialist" feel on the subject, they are in the business to sell the new line although it would be interesting to hear their comments on which center channel they would prefer between two original RF-7s. Old thread.

I bought a RC7 a while back to replace my RF52, it's not even close. The RC7 is worlds better.

People keep mentioning this is an "old thread," and I agree completely that the RC-7 is an awesome speaker, but wouldn't you want to know if the RC-64II (or RC-64) would be an "upgrade" and how it sounds with the original RF-7s comparatively speaking?

As i've said before on here more than once, if i coudl find a local deal on a RC64ll i would try it in a heartbeat. I also would love to compare the 64ll to my RC7.

Cool. [H] Please accept my apology for not catching your comments before and I can't believe I missed one of your posts. [:o]

That being said, I decided to revive this "old thread" because I didn't want to start a new one and this title seemed apropos.
