Marvel
I found these docs from Klipsch. You make extensions to go on part of the horn and then set them upright (back end of the bin is now pointing up).

Moderators dtel Posted April 16, 2013 Moderators Share Posted April 16, 2013 That is the first time I heard of it, Thanks. saved the pics For a much smaller space two singles "standing up" would be perfect, good to know.
Daddy Dee
thanks Bruce. Never on my radar before.
CECAA850
Why do they refer to it as an MWX?
CECAA850
I answered my own question. Mouth eXtension for MWM.

This is excellent for a tight fit but you need to xover at 250hz. You get bass extension and sensitivity increase in the 35 - 250hz band so just add LaScala. djk
The extended version has less at the top end, more at the bottom end (if you think 40hz is bottom end). The LB-76 would make a good small top, maybe an elliptrac for the HF.
Marvel
This makes sense... I didn't follow the trace correctly and thought the extended one had the higher freq. output. The graph has been updated in teh pdf I posted with all three pages. mark1101
Bruce, Neat that you found this. I can't tell the "year" on the drawing. I see "Aug." Was this done in the 50s?
Marvel
Looks like maybe '57. When did Gary Gillum leave? It's his logo on the grap. Bruce
mark1101
.........So you stand the MWM in the corner positioned kind of like a "corn broom" (or against a wall probably behind a screen) and the horn is raised of the floor with a plywood back and short sides to leave a mouth along the floor facing the audience. I guess you "fly" the other boxes. Theaters must have complained about not having enough space behind the screen.
DrWho
I wonder if you could get the "HF" extension back by adding a reflector beneath the horn....
jwc
There was a guy a few year back who had a system in his home with this kinds setup. It was one double stacked MWM sitting behind his electronics then he had some custom straight horn setup in the corners. Never seen the article about it. Thanks Marvel. Edit: It could have been the single stack. Edited November 15, 2015 by jwc
