Ave Bona Cornwall
Is there any chance those were re-finished? That picture doesn't really look like mahogany to me, but I am no pro.
garymd
They sure look like mahogany to me.
Budman
they are Mahogany Raw. if the S is for stained then somone sanded them down back to raw. these look just like my old Mahogany Raw verticals that i posted a picture on the other thread from edroom we need a picture of the grill cloth. the 7 could be for that
Max2
Looks like African Mahogany. Maybe someone knows where Klipsch was sourcing their veneers during the build date.
Edroom
They have not been refinished, the grillcloth is "standard black"
sheltie dave
I believe the 7 is the mahogany red stain, dipping back to a Shorthorn or mono thread from years back. A raw mahogany would be MR, not M7S, if memory serves. I had a bud with a M7L Khorn, which was a red stained lacquered finish.
LarryC
Somewhere long ago, I saw two Klipsch mahogany designations -- M7 and M2. M7 was supposed to be dark, and M2 much lighter. Frzninvt on the forum probably knows.
