mustang guy
Thanks! I used Autocad LT for years, and Sketchup is far more intuitive.
Sancho Panza
So a pair of THTs with Heresy on top, & a Heresy Center would not be a good idea?
CECAA850
So a pair of THTs with Heresy on top, & a Heresy Center would not be a good idea? Depends on the room. Subs need to be placed where they perform well, not necessarily where they look good.
Sancho Panza
Well, 1 would be in ideal location. T'other I'd have to try.
CECAA850
Well, 1 would be in ideal location. T'other I'd have to try. Setting up 2 subs is an entirely different conversation. You can add a second sub and really improve bass throughout the room OR end up with less bass than you started with.

mustang guy
How about this HT? The 3rd row is elevated on a sub. Something like a spud, danley, or pictured a straightened out THT on top of another. Edited November 14, 2013 by mustang guy

Me Loves Khorns
Been a while since I've posted... My son and I, Me Loves Hereseys, moved some of our speakers around. He now has my Khorns up front for his room and we took our 2 LaScalas and put them on side and put tv on top of it. Now Heresy's do back duty. We have only had it hooked up for a short time, but it sounds amazing!!! The sound from the front with 2 Khorns and LS's singing from the front, is simple perfection!!!! I was thinking the same thing. The only question is, how do you hook this up? With two centers, using two amp channels and an RCA splitter to feed them makes the best sense. The loss in signal from the RCA split would be made up by doubling the center speaker. This configuration would only work with pre-pro, and not with a regular receiver. If you have a regular receiver, then I'm not sure how you would hook it up. The impedance would be screwed up, and I'm not sure what wiring serial/parallel using speakers with networks does to impedance anyway.

I always thought it was split. I guess it is actually current that is split. Is neither true?
psg
The current is split. But shouldn't matter into a high-impedance amplifier input. It only cares what voltage it gets.

Thank you. That means an approximate -3db adjustment in the preamp if going from a single to a double center, unless I am mistaken...again... psg
6 dB. Two closely-spaced speakers playing the same level increases SPL by 6 dB.
