mustang guy
This looks like a nice one, and shows up on the monster receiver list. 200 wpc. Just under 50 lbs. Great looking with the label still on the face. Sansui G 9700 The guy says one side isn't working. If the price doesn't go up to much, this could one to repair and flip. no affiliation

ZEUS121996
Anyone here have the bid in on this G-9700? I'm interested but don't want to drive the price up on anyone here. Mark
mustang guy
Doubt it. I search for the big receivers every day. I post finds here and ignore the rest. I already have my Technics SA-5760. Very happy with it, for now...

That can be very fulfilling too...

tigerwoodKhorns
You keep posting these monster receivers but you are missing a monster receiver that is one of the great bargains in audio that can be had for about $500: http://www.audioreview.com/cat/amplification/a-v-receivers/denon/avr-5800/prd_124583_2718crx.aspx Has some really nice DAC built in too. mustang guy
Nice Tiger. That's a behemoth! I should have said that I post finds on 1970's, cool looking, monster, stereo receivers. There are some pretty beasty 80's units, but I am in the 70's right now. I like the belly of your beast: That's a 'Man AVR'. Edited November 6, 2014 by mustang guy

Oh yea, I am bringing some good stuff to the gathering in Hope in April....can't wait!! Don't know about projects, but there is a parts 1250 on the bay. Looks like it fell out of an airplane. The knobs, transformer, and other parts may be of use to you since you are the Pioneer guy. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Pioneer-SX-1250-Stereo-Receiver-/191404119047?pt=Vintage_Electronics_R2&hash=item2c90931407
Mystery
Looks like that Pio is dropped from a moving vehicle. I had Sansui G-8000 and it was pretty good sounding with Polk SDA's and few other speakers. Passed it on for 5 bills: Edited November 7, 2014 by Mystery

Mighty Favog
I wouldn't mind a Technics SA1000 but I'd have to build another house for the (then) pending divorce.
davis419b
Every G-9700 I have seen had 1 channel out. When Sansui had the bad idea of cheaper receivers to compete in the 80"s quality went downhill !
Frzninvt
You certainly have to include the Luxman R-1120A in the awesome big receiver's from the 70's category. Heard one the first time powering a pair of Belle Klipsch. It was thunderous and ultra clear sounding. A friend of mine from my home town was selling one with the matching Luxman graphic equalizer with it. Not sure if he still has it. I just did not have a room to dedicate to it.
