001
looks like a nice setup for the price & he will seperate at about $700 for the chorus. a little too far for me otherwise i would be all over them. good luck to those searching for these! http://columbus.craigslist.org/eld/4905502934.html

001
trust, if they were walnut or oak i would seriously be considering a road trip. but they have to be priced a little better to justify 8 hours one way! hope someone can take advantage of these. maybe the karma will come back to me???
opusk2k9
I alerted Colter earlier, maybe he will snag them.
absolve2525
I called, they've been sold.
wvu80
Did you happen to get the final sale price? $700 was the sale price mentioned in Post #1. I may be interested in C2's someday if the right deal comes along, and I'm trying to educate myself in what the current market will bear. 001
this was a pawn shop selling them, bet they could have been had for $650ish. he offered me the $700 with no hesitation at all, bet if i offered $600-650 cash in person he would have taken it. as a pwn shop i bet he gave about $400 for them, or the package was about $700. pawn shops pay very little & mark prices up very high. anyone here get them? i was just going to post this morning... WHY ARE THESE STILL FOR SALE???
absolve2525
Welll..... I have to admit, I'm the culprit! Lol I got them. :-) I couldn't resist! Of course, thanks to the heads-up. I've barely had time to play with them. Drivers are fine, except I have to reglue the accordion surround on a small part of one of the passives. A small section near a screw hole is loose and has some air escaping. Should be good as new when I'm done. They're flipping amazing! Next up, get Crites Ti diaphragms. 001
cool! glad a member here got them. & i like how you ambiguously posted they had been sold.... seems the accordion surrounds are commonly torn or damaged. my recent forte 2's had the same problem, its very thin & fragile. klipsch should have stuck with the thick rubber surrounds used in the original fortes or on the forte 1 & 2 woofers. much more durable. absolve2525
Thanks! Has anyone repaired or replaced those surrounds? I'm sure there's a foam type out there that fits.
Frzninvt
They need to be weighted the same or they will not function correctly. Check with Klipsch parts or eBay.
absolve2525
Thanks, I'll check if necessary. These are still in fine shape fortunately (surprisingly, considering these don't have rear cover protection)
001
klipsch doesnt sell any heritage parts, at all. ebay wont have just the surrounds either, maybe a complete passive from time to time. simply speakers will recone them & use the correct accordion surround, but they dont sell just the surround. as for foam i wouldnt bother, it dries out over time & will fall apart. the best way to repair the surround is to apply some flexible silicone type material to the back side for best cosmetics or the front too if you can get a black color. i use & suggest an automotive gasket sealer type, like permatex ultra black, it is very durable & flexible & will hold an air tight seal. as for weight issues... i would suggest forming your own opinion on that... but if you ask moray james he will say to add up to 2.5oz of extra weight to improve the bass. a foam surround wont weigh much more than a few grams compared to the accordian surrounds. if you want to do that it should be just fine. Rivernuggets
klipsch doesnt sell any heritage parts, at all. I purchased a tweeter for a Belle about two years ago.
001
sorry, they may have some parts like diaphrams etc... but no woofers or individual surrounds, dust caps, cones etc.
jjptkd
If its just a small section torn a little bit of shoe goo should do the trick. Otherwise Simplyspeakers re-cones these passives for $50 I believe, probably would want to have both done at once though just to be safe.
jjptkd
Oh, and congrats on the Chorus II's!!
absolve2525
Thanks for tips, guys! I was successfully able to glue down the outer edges of the accordion surrounds, and make sure all the seals are air tight. Pushing on the passive makes the big woof move outwards, and vice versa. I'm thrilled with the sound, and Crites Ti diaphragms are on their way. Don't get me wrong, the stock poly diaphragms are fine, but the Crites add extra air and detail. I was hesitant about the black finish, but seeing it in person, it is quite sleek and modern. They weren't exactly cheap, but I'm happy to pay market price for such an awesome speaker that doesn't pop up too often, or for very long when they do. :-D Edited February 28, 2015 by absolve2525
