Need a couple of copper badges....

I was going to do a thread on restoring the copper badges but never got around to it. But, I do have the pictures.

The copper badges oxidize just like a penny. It's pretty easy to bring them back to what they looked like new. This is a beater laser badge I have in my collection.

Wet sanded with some 1000, then 2000. Use a hard block so you don't round off the sides.

You have to be careful with the lasers due to the fact that the marking is very shallow. I have had laser marking done before (plastics and aluminum) and it appears to me that they were done with a laser. Hence the moniker. Pretty cool for mid 70's technology.

The later style appear to be acid/photo etched. These can be sanded quite aggressively to remove flaws.

The above pic was taken with an iPhone and as it looks to be in terrible condition, I would give it a solid 9 to the naked eye.
