Lost240
I am looking at purchasing a set of 1979 klipschorns. Can anyone tell me the dimensions of the speakers without the top hats. Also how tall are the top hats? I think I can get these in my Mazda CX-9 but I really want to be sure. Thanks!
The Dude
I was able to get bass bins in the back of my Cheerokee. It was tight but i managed. I think they are roughly 36", someone will chime in with exact measurements.
Lost240
@The Dude Were you also able to fit the top hats?
Chris A
39.5" tall x 31.25 wide x ~28 deep - just the bass bins.
Lost240
Thank you @Chris A I may not be able to fit them after all. Ugh. Looks like a rental van may be in order. I was really hoping it was 36"
Chris A
That's what I did: Enterprise rent-a-van. Take many blankets--more than you think that you need. You can also rent moving pads. I used both--all of them.
ssh
Good advice, Chris. Many years ago, I borrowed a Suburban to get my Khorns, and I was surprised at how much I had to buffer between parts. SSH
baron167
My pair fit easily in my '08 Chrysler Town n Country (tops removed as well as side panels removed). I agree with the blankets.

I used both--all of them. agree with the principle. if you've ever moved, you know how to do it. extra blankets are kinda like cheap insurance. and also, it's kinda like an umbrella - won't need it until you don't have it; if you take it, you won't need it kind of thing. and don't under-estimate room required to move them, in sizing a vehicle. (if you underestimate it & need more room... oh it can be ugly. been there & done that) I haven't had to load, move, pad anything like Khorns in many many years, but when I was in my twenties, I did drive a moving truck for about 5 yrs. so that's where I'm coming from. good luck in your project
The Dude
@The Dude Were you also able to fit the top hats?I didn't have them, hard to tell if they would have fit. I may have been able to, if i put them in a certain angle.
J M O N
It is possible to fit two complete "B-model" Khorns in a 4Runner, but just barely.

wvu80
There is a recent detailed thread on moving Khorns. I'll try to find it.
