longdrive03
Have a project coming up redoing a set of HIP's. I plan on filling in the handle hole on the tops and removing all metal, sanding down and then veneering and probably removing the metal screen covering the woofer from inside and changing out the caps. Anyone ever done that? Any helpful tricks appreciate
jimjimbo
Haven't done that, but I'm sure it will look great!
MookieStl
Are these a mis matched pair? I would leave the hardware (handles and metal trim) if they are a matched pair. I am sure whatever you do will look great! No advice other than take pics along the way and keep us posted. I always love a good build/refurb thread. What are your plans for the metal screens? I have a pair of HIPs that will not be getting veneer, but could use the screens.
JBCODD
Your work has been uniformly spectacular. Wished I lived closer so it would be economical for me to own some. But I will enjoy seeing these, as I have enjoyed viewing your other projects. Keep up the good work. JBCODD

glens
I'd go with a "distressed roadie" finish on that model. :^)
longdrive03
Thanks for the comments Guys. I don’t have the Speakers yet. I’ve got some ribbon mahogany and walnut veneer that I might use on the sides tops and fronts. I’ll post pics as I proceed.
