thebes
Ran across this on the Audiogon Forum. It's a race top the bottom folks. MeloManiac
For Ikea, the dollar = euro! I hate multinational companies that milk out the European working class people! According to todays conversion rate, $99 = €90.44 So that 's a 10% profit for doing... nothing. Compare with:
MeloManiac
Of course, our European speakers/lights do have a A++ energy label, while Americans don't have that label. Ha! There lies the difference! I'm *sure* that in China, they have a separate, European production line just for that label alone! 😖
MeloManiac
It's Sonos, not Bose, working together with Ikea, btw.
MeloManiac
They also sell a 'Cajun subwoofer' for their 'plastic fantastic' sound system. Not a joke, btw. https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/frekvens-cajon-drum-plywood-40420297/ After you've put it together, you can paint it yourself in any color you like, and get wild, "a real boost to a party"! Hey Klipsch, if you want to survive Ikea's frontal attack on the speaker market, I suggest you buy designer Hanna Crondahl, at no matter what cost!

A cajon is not a subwoofer, but a percussion, musical instrument.

tigerwoodKhorns
It gets people listening to music. I have friends who love their alexa. Sounds terrible but they are happy.
MEH Synergy
Purchased, thank you for the link. Can't wait to fire these bad boys up. Perfect way to downsize properly. Dynamics are gonna be nutty (and if they aren't, the lights will likely leave me mesmerized).
DirtyErnie
It's too bad these kids didn't get to live through the 80's and see just how horrible all that junk looked then, and how bad the recreations are now. Then again, my generation did all that in the 90's, but with the 60's. But the 60's had Jimi and the Saturn V rocket... 80's had cocaine and the Challenger disaster...
