robforst1
My wife and I wathced Jurassic Park III last night...wow! There was some serious house shaking BASS in that movie. Also, some terrific visuals. Cool movie...
NOZ
It's one of the best for a$$ shaking. My drink does the same thing the water does when the t-rex walks. (ripple effect) Very cool!!!
Orange Peel
I want to watch this movie as well, but the Blockbuster that has it by my house only has the full screen version, YUCK! I need a widescreen version damnit!!! I will probably just buy the thing, I want the set really.
RangerSix
I always demo my home theater with the T-Rex/dino fight scene in the first half of the movie. The first time I played that scene my phone fell off the charger on the wall. I had to cut down my demo's after my neighbor began to complain. BBB
The surrounds are pretty active especially in the scene where they are rolling around in the fuselage of the wrecked plane. Sensational bass.
cdsang
Hey Ranger Six Just to help me out, what sub or subs are you useing? I think it would be cool to have that kinda bass. Maybe not do it every 5 mins but just to have the power to do it. Thank you if you answer.
justin_tx_16
See, i did not like this Jurassic Park. The first non Spielberg... and you could tell, well I could. But the spec. effects and all are still top notch
RangerSix
cdsang, I have one lowly (no pun) SVS 20-39 PCi. More than enough for my needs presently.
Mlstrass
My dual Tempest sub WILL rattle windows 2 houses away during some of the better scenes in JPIII. Also the scene when they're running through the field of dino's is VERY good as ALL channels will wrap you in sound and make you feel like you're in there with them! Orange Peel
Just got done watching this tonight, rented the samn full screen version, I'm not a big fan of stretch modes, but I mainly rented it for the audio. Man my SVS was digging deep in this movie and rattling EVERYTHING in the house. I LOVED IT! Excellent sound, I just love bass don't you? ColaBear
Oh man, I just had to reply when I saw that "stretched mode" comment. What the heck do you mean by stretched. Full Screen movies are "CHOPPED OFF", in other words, you don't get to see the whole movie. Ben Hur would look absolutley horrid on your preferred 4:3 view of things. Just my opinion though. But the thing is that he does not like streching 4:3 images to fill the 16:9 screen and so watched it in 4:3.
ColaBear
How did you draw that conclusion?
Kain
Read his posts. Deang
Lowest note in that movie is when they are digging through the dino turd piles looking for the cell phone. When they pan to the beast stepping out my SVS driver bottomed out big time. I don't know what in the hell that frequency is -- but it sent me flying to the Samson. Orange Peel
Thanks Kain, you have it perfectly correct. ColaBear - I have a Mits WS-65869 Widescreen TV, and the DVD player is set to 16:9 for my TV. If I rent a movie that was "Formatted to fit this TV" it blows hard core! If I leave the TV in standard mode, it will take that 4:3 image the "Full Screen" movies are made in and SSSTTTTRRREEEETTTTCCCHHHH it to fill the 16:9 screen. Making EVERYTHING oval shaped instead of round. So the people's heads are a little deformed and the mOOn's are oval not round, etc. So I have to switch my TV to the 4:3 mode and then I get these ANNOYING grey bars on the side. Like someone would get if they have a 4:3 TV and watch a widescreen movie, the black bars on top and bottom. So that's why I said it sucked for that purpose, I just wanted to hear the movie more than see it, I saw it in the theatres a million years ago Dean - My SVS didn't bottom out there, I will have to listen to it again. Yours must be a little hot, like mine USED to be before I killed the driver
zandern
Rangersix, see you could post that your phone fell off the charger in my "Damage your subwoofer has done" post under powered subwoofers. I know that there has to be better stories than what is listed in there.
