RIP FRANCO

Yes it's sad, The Italian Stallion Mr. Franco Harris has "died suddenly".

One of my childhood heros and this weekend was supposed to be a big part of halftime at a game up there. Growing up about halfway between the Falcons and the Redskins I fluctuated between faves. Could have been the Purple People Eaters in December of `72, they were great then.

Everybody knew to watch the Steelers late in the season though. Terry Bradshaw was a qb blueprint for the future then.

This was replayed on The Wide World of Sports so often it might have been part of the intro at one point!!

RIP Franco! Unique running style (kinda like Dickerson). Had 12K yds rushing in the NFL. Few get there. That video above shows how far football cinematography has come.

This weekend it will be the 50th anniversary of that famous play!

This "news" site repulses me but might be acceptable here now.
