John Warren
K-401 pictures. Looking at one side of K-401, showing the stiffening ribs. Side view of horn, note parting line of mold halves. Mounting flange is about 1/4" thick. Machined aluminum insert at throat. Looks to be cast into the horn at molding.

JohnA
Hey Marvel, If Klipsch really is selling 401s for $50 ea, you should jump on a pair! For future use, of course. That horn is one of the reasons it is cheaper to buy used than to build.
Tony Reed
I received my pair of K401 horns from Klipsch today. At first glance, they appear to be identical to John's horns. I'll post pics later tonight. Tony
Tony Reed
Here are the "new" $50.00 horns. They weigh in at about 5 pounds each. Tony
Frzninvt
I take it that the compression gaskets (washers) have to be ordered separately and are not included with the K-401 Horns then. Good to know if I decide to order, they just seem so cheaply constructed compared to the K-400.
Tony Reed
Yep, the gaskets/washers are a separate part. At one point they were $8.00 each. I hope they lowered the price on those as well. Tony
HarleyMo
Is there a list somewhere that shows which drivers ar compatible with which horn and which tweeter/mid/woofer combinations go together. At least in a stock klipschorn configuration. I know there are a multitude of opinions on the "optimal" combinabtion. But looking for someplace to start with my DIY klipschorn project. Ive been scouring the forum and its hard to try to glean the answer from so much information and opinions. Thanks

I have some bass guitars that use composite fiber for the neck and some for neck reinforcing. Makes a big difference. And it don't come cheap. So for $50 each, I'm going to do it. jhawk92
artto- I ordered up a pair myself, should be delivered next week. I figure I'll keep them safe for now and really work with the K-horns and the 400 horn first. But I wanted to get the 401 horns in case they raise the price, sell out, etc.
