kenratboy
I knew everything, as I did the shopping a while ago. My parents didn't want to, not did I, get me worthless stuff that would get tossed in a few weeks. I HATE to waste money, and I would hate to see my parnets waste money on me (by waste I mean things I don't want, they are more than welcome to waste all the money they want on me, though...) The two big things were: This: http://www.escortradar.com/gtimer.htm (the GT1, the GT2 didn't seem worth the extra $100) And this: http://www.usa.canon.com/html/eflenses/lineup/telephotozoom/index.html (the 55-200mm, pending ordering it from J&R) Other than that, just some odds and ends. A really nice Norelco shaver (electric, you you old school people), new cordless phone, racing books (as in, how to drive better, not a picture book of some NASCAR guy), and that sort of stuff. Overall, it was fine. I have had more exciting Christmas's, but despite the loss of my aunt a few months ago, at least the four of us are together, and thats whats really important. How about you? Everything go good this holiday season?
arthurs
we had a great but lowkey day as our two sons both have the flu. it was tough seeing the poor little guys trying to tough it out but not feeling so well. it was great in that we were just the 4 of us, and somehow a quiet-type day together was perfect. we watched some movies, played some videos, and napped alot. as for me, I got a docking station for my pronto and the Patricia Barber collection on mfsl sacd's. cheers to all! chuckears
The family and I have a LOT of viewing to do now, with these under the tree: Star Trek TNG; Season Five Indiana Jones Trilogy T3 The Graduate (non-anamorphic, unfortunately) .... and Santa brought my 11-year old daughter the first season of Smallville. Sounds like we need a good snowstorm to keep us inside for a while...

chuckears
kenratboy, Being a comic book geek in my youth (I've since sold them all), I tuned into Smallville at the very start, with my daughter in tow. I really like the discovering-and-using-his-powers stuff, but the teenage angst crap (apparently a trademark of the WB shows) wears pretty thin. Although I find myself enjoying only about one out of every five episodes, it has become one of the few shows we watch as a family. Besides, Kristin Kreuk (Lana Lang) is REALLY cute

I got: Stratovarious Elements Part 2 Dream Theater Train of Thought David Arkenstone Songs Inspired by Middle Earth I also got a pretty cool book on how to build battle-bots. I may now actually have to try that . Got several other odds and ends (such as the 2003 US Mint proof set). Christmas has been very nice. Got to spend X-mas eve at my parents where I unwrapped the above and where my father unwrapped that much talked about Bose Wave radio. I'll admit that it does sound pretty good, but I think my Tivoli sound much better. Traveled up to PA on Christmas and spent the time with my younger brother, his wife and my two nephews. We were playing the hell out of that new X-box he got . I am going to have to go get myself one! I am currently posting this from his computer. Later today, back to Virginia to my parents, then on down to Massanutten to spend the weekend skiing. Monday, back to that wonderful place called work . fini
I didn't get a single piece of audio-related gear or software. The most fantastic gift was a heavy duty refrigerator dolly, the kind with a strap that cinches down. Seriously, that's gonna make my back happy! Got a couple of really nice books, too. TheEAR
I got clothes! May I add I hate getting clothes And two new pairs of winder boots, great more boots. On a good note I did not find any subwoofers hidden by Santa. If the fat bearded man walked in he would want to steal some of them for sure. And make all subwooferless HT fanatics happy. Happy Holidays

DMF
We already got Christmas presents early with the new HT gear, so it was a minimalist pile of loot. Nevertheless: fitting for the compressor to fill Presta valves (obligatory tool loot) ugly shoes shirts that might actually fit And the completion of what turned out to be a major project to run a speaker lead inside the wall to the rear channel. (When God passed out brains the framers were somewhere else drinking.) So add a rear channel to the loot pile!

rpittman
Well, aside from a bunch of DVDs, I got a Palm Tungsten T3, to which I have successfully moved all the stuff on my old Vx. Still have 40Mb free! On an audio note, the boys each got the new Dell 15Gb MP3 players, of which I am favorably impressed, although the packaged software has a slight learning curve. At least the oldest one loaded some Hendrix and Led Zep 4 on his. Oh, yeah. Can't forget SOCOM II with a headset.
easylistener
A scanner, 5.8ghz phone and clothes. That is just about it though. The high light of the holidays was watching my son open up all of the gifts.

I still have enough boy in me to enjoy my toys, but it's different for kids (yes, I can still remember).
garymd
Audio related, CDs: Van Morrison, "What's Wrong With This Picture" Grateful Dead, "The Birth of the Dead" Other than that, clothes. That's OK though. I've made up for it this year.
