1991 Pontiac Grand Prix, 3.4 DOHC with rare 5 speed manual, still have grime under the nails from hanging all new rotors, calipers, pads, e-brake cables and brake hoses on it this afternoon. Probably could have thrown in a new master just to say it had ALL new brakes. ;)

Wife drives a 2001 GMC Jimmy. Need the 4wd in Minnesota. I'd prefer a Tahoe, but she thinks it's too big.

1991 Cavalier Z24 sitting here in the lot as a back-up in case one of the above goes down.

Figured I'd throw this in here too. it's really me on a Fantasy Weekend:

I think they needed to get one more bug out of this before releasing it to the public. Make sure the volume is on. Sorry for the slow load to the dial-up guys.

2002 Jeep Wrangler.

Sent the last payment in today.

Have 4 different tops and i love the thing.

I wanted a 2 seater that i could haul my dog in.

I was going to get a BMW but i could not see carring my dog around in it. One day i saw a jeep and i knew that was the answer.

First thing I did when I got it home was take out the back seat. I have never put it in 4WD. It came with a video but I dont have a VCR.

The sales guy told me it would take 45 minutes to take the hard top off and put the soft top on the first time. 3 hours later i was jamming.

Now i ride with the top off from the end of March until mid November.

2003 Crown Vic LX Sport. Handling suspension, V-8 with real duals (an exhaust pipe for each bank of cylinders unlike cheesy Honda, Accura and Pontiac V-6s that "Y" off 2 tailpipes from a single exhaust), 17" wheels, ABS, traction control, leather buckets----yadda-yadda.

Sorry Tom, I'm not worried.

2003 Acura TL Type-S. 3.2 ltr. VTEC with aluminum block and heads, 260hp, 232ft.lb torque, 1/4 mile in 14.8sec., 0-60 in 6.2sec., 17" Enkie rims(stock), 5-speed auto (last two are over drive) with Sequencial Sport Shift., 4-channel ABS with Traction Control and Vehicle Stability Control, etc.

Unlike Tom's 239hp. pulling 4,100lbs, I'll be waving bye-bye passing those cars with 260hp pulling 3,500 (before I added another 10hp with simple mods)2.gif

And I still get 33mpg highway and 19mpg city and only paid $28,500 for it brand new.9.gif

Tom---Yeah, Hondas are nice cars if you're a certain kind of guy, a metrasexual type who digs pissant V-6s for instance.

But I'm old school, I see nothing cool about foreign cars, nothing. I think they're effete. Not the cars of course, they are but machines, but the smarmy new-age mentality that thinks they're cool, that's effete. Degenerate. UnAmerican self-loathing.

Sure, that's lots of cars faster than my Vic, hell, it's a road-cruiser and a particularly American type of car. It's just what I want. But if you want to find Fords that can beat-up on your Honda they're not hard to find. And cheaper than your Honda too.

And that phony Honda V-6 Y pipe exhaust is forever cheap and phony, like something from J.C. Whitney's. Japanese quality eh?

Uh, no. That was GM that came up with that idea. Just don't lump me in with the Ricer Boy Racers that can't even keep their pants pulled up to their waist. Hell I'm 38.

American made? Yep, right here in Marysville, Ohio. The only Japanese part in that Acura is the transmission. Can you say that every part in the Crown Vic is American made? I don't have the breakdown in front of me but I would highly doubt it.

My first car I ever had was a 75' Merc Montego MX. That car had more recurring problems than I could count.

Are there faster Fords out there? Sure. But I don't drive my 16 year-old daughter's car. Sales figures I read 3 years ago showed that the majority of new Mustangs and GM F-Bodies bought within the last ten years were by females under the age of 22.

A cruiser? Yep, can do that at 140mph all day too (just no place to do it).

And that may have a pissant V6 but it's kickin' your butt. Are you saying that all automotive technological ideas have been thought of and no more exist? Boy, such narrow mindedness.

I don't like the KIDS that go out and put wing spoilers on a Plymouth Breeze either. I don't sucribe to that ilk of human waste at all. But it would not be wise for you to assume that an entire car company's line-up revolves around such simple-minded youth. Hmmmm.....the Focus, Escort, Cavalier, Neon, cars are coming to mind. Yes, teh civics are there too but Civics sell for a premium for a reason (new and used); reliability.

1996 Ford Escort Station Wagon (hold's me, a pair of Cornwalls, a kid and a dog with ease!)

130,000 miles currently

had 120,000 miles when purchased two years ago. 2,500 cash (no car payments), well used and abused when bought.

0-60 in well under 2 weeks.

bone stock and staying that way!

My primary transportation is a 19 year old 12-speed bicycle (bought brand new on Bach's 300th birthday, a good day), over 25,000 miles to date. Entropically sound, mechanically simple.

life is good.

Blasing---You know this thread was going fine, nobody bumrapped anybody else's choice until you piped up to tell me how much better your Honda is. Like I give a ****, if I wanted a Honda I'd buy one.

One wonders how many girls drive 390 hp SVT Mustangs.

Most of the guys I see driving Hondas are chinless nerds; no-balls desk-jockeys with cell-phones prominently displayed like a Red Badge of Courage. Guys who do what they're told. Or chicks. But hey, that dosen't mean you're like that.
