ShapeShifter
I always link there from Welborne labs. Just tried it, and it worked for me. Try it through Welborne's site: http://www.audioasylum.com/forums/welborne/bbs.html
Cut-Throat
Wes, Do a CTRL Refresh on your AA page - I bet it disappears.
ShapeShifter
Cleared my history and refreshed the page twice, the page and data is still showing in my brower. Here is the general asylum page link after refreshing: http://www.audioasylum.com/audio/general/bbs.html Not sure what is going on with others? ShapeShifter
Working for me with Comcast Cable in Michigan.
J M O N
I too am using Comcast Cable in Michigan, but it's still not working. Maybe it has something to do with the type of browser we're using. I am using IE 6.0.
Cut-Throat
Wes, Do you see any posts dated today in the Audio Asylum? That would be a clincher.
jt1stcav
I had Time-Warner's RoadRunner, but it recently became BrightHouse, and I've experienced more dropouts since...bummer!
Randy Bey
me neither. my (comcast) dns doesn't know www.audioasylum.com anymore. Any of you guys that can access it, go to a command prompt on your computer (Start/Run/cmd) and type "nslookup www.audioasylum.com" and see what IP address it reports. Let us know what it is. Randy Bey
nvr mind. I got it myself. The (current) IP address for audioasylum is: 64.154.92.195 so, edit your %systemdir%/system32/drivers/etc/hosts file and add a line like so: 64.154.92.195 www.audioasylum.com and you should be good to go. ShapeShifter
Ron and others have acknowledged they are having problems with certain ISP's accessing their site. Here's a copy of a post today which has more info as to what's happening regarding expiration of AA's domain or host contract: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Posted by Todd Krieger (A) on March 14, 2004 at 10:24:24 In Reply to: Why Does My High Speed ISP Not See AA? posted by Todd Krieger on March 13, 2004 at 11:52:13: It just so happens these things always come up either late Friday or early Saturday, where we will have to wait until Monday to see it resolved... The problem has to do with either the domain or hosting contract expiring on March 12. Some (but not all) ISPs have a policy of blocking websites with expired domain/hosting. It just so happens my high-speed ISP has such a policy, and my dial-up ISP does not. As one stated elsewhere, using the numerical IP http://64.154.92.195/ is a temporary workaround. For example, General Asylum URL would be http://64.154.92.195/audio/general/bbs.html. All boards would have to be typed in manually, using the numerical IP, but posting messages works fine. The only thing not available with the numeric IP is the search engine. Hopefully, things will be back to normal on Monday.
