colterphoto1
Bad omens all, get a new builder NOW. Just my .02. Michael- I know just enough about building a home that I could never hire it done, I would KILL THEM ALL before it was done....
DrWho
That's why you gotta show up to the build site everyday and make sure everything is up to par. My dad put in a few hundred dollars worth of nails into our house while it was being built. You wouldn't think it was that hard to get stuff all squared up, let alone nailed in! damonrpayne
Yes DrWho. I have a level and a square in my trunk. I minimally plan on hiring an inspector to go over all the work @ each construction draw. Still waiting on a response after I called the MBA down on them. damonrpayne
Hypotheticaly, things are smoothed over and we should be digging next week. We will see what we will see.
IndyKlipschFan
Hypotheticaly, things are smoothed over and we should be digging next week. Hmm here we go again!! Can I offer a huge helpful suggestion? Looking at your plans... Move the fireplace to the middle of the wall. Your losing a great spot maybe for a future k horn facing into the room and kitchen! Are you also going to have a basement too?
damonrpayne
My movie room is in the basement. I did a layout in Visio, its in the pictures section on my site. We've been inside the house and like it pretty much the way it is. Only change to the structure is a whirlpool bath and a half-wall to seperate the living & dining rooms. damonrpayne
Specificity is key to victory in this contest. (BTW my MS Project plan is placing the date something like the 26th of February right now)

DrWho
imma go with March 21. It's the first day of spring and my bday...though i think the first day might have shifted to the 22 or 23 by now. It's always moving around.

If so, please accept my new & improved guess of Tuesday, March 21, 2006
JTYoung
There is no reason they cannot meet that February 26th date. 6 months is more than enough time to build that home.
RFinco
January 14th, 9:38 A.M. Central Time I.E. 1 hour before the housing inspector condemms it for improper adhereance to the rules of color schemes designed around the patterns of migratory birds. but that's just a guess... my original "feel" was january - but I thought NNAAAAHHH nothing takes that long....but then, I remembered its building a house. I'm going to win. whoo hoo! Dude, your MS project is busted yo'. either that, or you didn't plan the variables correctly. where did you get your facts and figures for each stage of building and/or production? damonrpayne
My MS project plan is based on the maximum amount of time they have according to our project, and I assume they will take all that time and more.
Gilbert
There's a little joke we use in my profession. We call what you are experiencing, "architorture". There's only one thing worse than architorture, and that's Contractortorture, ............GUARANTEED!! To quote a billion contractors, "I've been doin it that way for 20 YEARS!", how many times have you heard that one.
damonrpayne
I thought I'd bring this thread back from the dead to point out: As of now about 10% of the siding is done. No insulation, basement floor is not yet poured, electrical and plumbing is roughed-in but plumbing failed inspection so there are 4-5 things to fix. -folks who voted for November have a 0% chance of winning now -folks who voted for December have a 0% chance of winning now -Based on current status and rate of progress folks who voted for January have at most a 10% chance right now. February is not looking much better.
