Jeff Matthews
Fish, I'm gonna run a short dual challenge just for you. Do you know this one? "And if she asks you how I'm fairing Tell her I'm just about to lose my mind Worried about old Johnny Lee Walker And the girl I left behind"
colterphoto1
cross eyed mary- tull, didin't go far for that one This should be rock and roll... in a different time When the words didn't rhyme You could never quite be sure Then on with the change It was simple but strange And you knew the feeling seemed to say it all It cries for you It's the least that you can do Like a spiral on the wind I can hear it screamin' in my mind Michael
Jeff Matthews
Right-O! Michael, go ahead and post your challenge. I just wanted a little "aside" for Fish.

Jeff Matthews
For Jeff,Trudy,CDB. Fish, are you a guitarist? Looking at your avatar makes me want to guess "yes." As another little bit of trivia on CDB, my bro's high school rock band-mate hit the big time and became CD's lead guitarist. Of course, he came back for a visit and dazzled us all in a high school fund-raiser show. I have seen very few who could play guitar like him - just incredible and no slop at all. Michael, this is what we do when you post a stumper. But those first 2 lines ring a bell - I think.
rplace
Close,Detroit, lol Warning thread hijack. Fish, you say you are from Detroit? Any chance you are the "Fish" that is a UPS driver and friends with Kurt Schwartz, Kevin Yonker, Bill O'Connel, Keith whats-his-name and the Miller brothers??? That would be too funny if you are. I know metro Detroit is a big area, but how many people have the nickname of fish? Sorry for the Hijack...go back to name that tune. -Rich (I know a Fish in Detroit) Place

colterphoto1
Ok, here's the full first verse... At the end of a dream If you know where I mean When the mist just starts to clear In a similar way At the end of today I could feel the sound of writing on the wall It cries for you It's the least that you can do Like a spiral on the wind I can hear it screamin' in my mind If someone doesnt get this in 60 seconds, I quit. colterphoto1
I'll always have a stream-of-thought connection to the last song. In this case Jeff, you were going on about Rock and Roll or the lack thereof in the selections, So the words ROCK AND ROLL are in the title of this song... Now can ya get it???? British rock band, brilliant but ahole banjo player, midget longhair singer, Dorothy, we're not in Kansas....

jacksonbart
I hope this is not too obscure of a song from a very popular band who's DVD of thier 1994 tour keeps being delayed for release.(from another thread) "You say the hill's too steep to climb, climbingYou say you'd like to see me try, climbingYou pick the place and I'll choose the timeAnd I'll climb the hill in my own wayJust wait a while for the right dayAnd as I rise above the tree-line and the cloudsI look down hearing the soundOf things you've said today"This song appeared on a album release in fall 1971
