Bowie - Panic in Detriot

Here is one, should be quick

"I can't believe the news today

Oh, I can't close my eyes

And make it go away

How long...

How long must we sing this song?

How long? How long...

'cause tonight...we can be as one

Tonight...

Broken bottles under children's feet

Bodies strewn across the dead end street

But I won't heed the battle call

It puts my back up

Puts my back up against the wall"

Yeah, that's "Sunday Bloody Sunday," U2.

It wasn't very large

There was just enough room to cram the drums

in the corner over by the Dodge

It was a '64 with a mashed up door

and a cheesy little amp

with a sign on the front that said "Fender Champ"

and a second hand guitar

It was a Stratocaster with a whammy bar

This is a little bit more fun with some more lines of the song...how about this mid to late 70s AOR FM classic.

You know that chick that used to dance a lot

Every night she'd be on the floor shaking what she'd got

Man when I tell you she was cool, she was red hot

I mean she was steaming

And that time over at Johnny's place

Well this chick got up and she slapped Johnny's face

Man we just fell about the place

If that chick don't want to know, forget her

Ok if mowntnbkr is not going to post lyrics, I will. Should be another easy one.

"It was an April mornin' when they told us we should go

and as I turned to you, you smiled at me

How could we say no

Whoa, the fun to have, to live the dreams we always had

Whoa, the songs to sing when we'd at last return again

Swept New York a glancing kiss to those who claim they know

Below the streets that steam and hiss, the devil's in his hold

Whoa, to sail away to sandy lands and other days

Whoa, to touch the dream, hides inside and is never seen, yeah

Into the sun, the south, the north, at last the birds have flown

The shackles of commitment fell in pieces on the ground

Whoa, to ride the wind, to tread the air above the din

Whoa, to laugh aloud with dancing eyes above the crowds, yeah

Seek the man whose pointing hand the giant step unfolds

Guide us from the curving path that turns our feet to stone

And if one bell should ring in celebration for a king

so fast the heart should beat

As proud, the head with heavy feet, yeah

Oooh"

No, Jeff is digging deeper into his ELP stash. Karn Evil Nine,

First Impression from Brain Salad Surgery. Great album.

Ten score years ago, defeat the kingly foe

a wonderous dream came into being.

Tame the trackless waste, no virgin land left chaste

all shining eyes, but never seeing
