Jeff Matthews Posted October 27, 2005 Author Posted October 27, 2005 I have no clue, but the way the words are put together reminds me of Deep Purple. Quote
theryugobuddy Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Sorry, just got home.......so it was Rory.....thought it sounded familiar. Anyway, try this one: Like some cat from Japan, he could lick 'em by smiling He could leave 'em to hang That's Bowie off "Let's Dance"---no "Ziggy" After checking--I was right on the album-- Quote
Jeff Matthews Posted October 27, 2005 Author Posted October 27, 2005 The song is "Ziggy Stardust." Next: "I have this feeling that my luck is none too good. This sword here at my side don't act the way it should." Name that Tune! Quote
audiobliss69 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Man, this is depressing! I need to start listening to some more music!! Quote
Jeff Matthews Posted October 27, 2005 Author Posted October 27, 2005 Hint: This is a very, very cool song! After you see the name, listen to it. It's cool. That wasn't much of a hint.... Stay tuned! Quote
audiobliss69 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 If you say it's good...I'll look out for it and see if I can't listen to it. Thanks for the recommendation. Quote
theryugobuddy Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Hint: This is a very, very cool song! After you see the name, listen to it. It's cool. That wasn't much of a hint.... Stay tuned! What, like Fonzie? Quote
Jeff Matthews Posted October 27, 2005 Author Posted October 27, 2005 Okay, it's been about 1/2 hour. Here's a real hint...Lyrics later in the song during the big jam.... in a distorted, sort of demonic, tone...Bringing in the lords of chaosBringing up the beasts of HadesSucking out the souls of heroesLaying waste to knights and ladiesMy master is my slaveHahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!Sounds cultish, doesn't it? Quote
theryugobuddy Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 man--that is obscure !!! How about something that we've heard before ? "cultish" had some great other songs!! Quote
Jeff Matthews Posted October 27, 2005 Author Posted October 27, 2005 Hey, Buddy! What? Did you check it out and find it? Quote
theryugobuddy Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Yes--- But, I'm not going to post what it is-- I don't want to ruin it for the other players---this is a killer thread--- That song is quite unknown--and I like "cultish"--got a couple of their CDs, but not that one--listened to a sample, and I've never heard it--but the sample was good-- Quote
Jeff Matthews Posted October 27, 2005 Author Posted October 27, 2005 It's been a while. Time for another hint! This album was released in the same year that Russian paleontologists discovered the cultosaur. Quote
Jeff Matthews Posted October 27, 2005 Author Posted October 27, 2005 Come on guys, even though this amazingly killer tune is obscure, you should at least know the band and album by now. I'm beginning to feel blue. Quote
theryugobuddy Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Mr Matthews--- It has come to our attention that you have been using lyrix from a relatively well-known band long after they would be considered relevant. A good comparison would be--"Have you heard the latest third stanza of that new song by Earth Wind and Fire?" Please give it up--and yes, it does sound good--but please give it up and stop feeling blue and please offer up for guessing a lyric that has been heard by more than Eskimos-- Just kidding---its late--- Quote
sputnik Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 From the not so subtle hints, was it by the Blue Oyster Cult? Quote
theryugobuddy Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 looked it up-- I was a little wrong--just a little-- "Ice of a Known Birthplace" [] came AFTER this song-- damn good stuff-- Quote
Jeff Matthews Posted October 27, 2005 Author Posted October 27, 2005 Okay, the song is "Black Blade" by Blue Oyster Cult on their album, Cultosaurus Erectus. I knew it was obscure - but was hoping somebody heard it besides me. It really is a cool tune, and I thought it would be good to throw it out there as a cool, obscure tune to go check out if you're into looking for cool, old stuff you might have overlooked before. If you do get to check it out, be sure to play at maximum volume for best results. Now for a less obscure tune... "Well theres a light in your eye that keeps shining Like a star that cant wait for the night" Name that tune! Quote
SCOOTERDOG Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Led Zep...I think its foolin in the rain or something like that Quote
Jeff Matthews Posted October 27, 2005 Author Posted October 27, 2005 You are correct, the wise and all-powerful Scooterdog! What do you have in store, next? (BTW: Was "Black Blade" that obscure?) Quote
