The Klipsch store is out of the regular t-shirts and will not be getting any more. They are now offering a baseball t but it costs about $5 or $6 more pushing me into spending about $25 a month of this effort when shipping is included. This is starting to cut into my junk food budget. They do have bumper stickers which are $3 to $4 a pop. I know you can get medallions from the parts dept. but I'm not sure if they would like me ordering up a batch of these. Suggestions are needed, so along with your weekly recommendation some feedback on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Format's simple: Name of artist or group, name of album, type of music as best you can (rock, blues etc.), and recording format (cd, lp etc.) As usual I'll start it off with: Bob Dylan, "Unplugged" rock/folk cd. From the MTV unplugged series of concerts it includes 3 tracks not on that broadcast. What can I say about Dylan, you either love him or hate him, and in recent years I've overcome my hate to become a big fan. His take on this cd of All Along the Watchtower is simply awesome, and his backing bands have gotten so much better over the years then the group he started with. Next dram is to you. ....and if you're being led to a conundrum, check out the fees. They really inflate conundrum fees like grass cutting, garbage pickup and maintenance....just kidding. ......this little contest really adds to the feeling of community here on the forum. If there are out of pocket expenses to keep it going, here's an alternative idea. Maybe a winner's page could be added to the forum, where the winner's handle and their choice of music could be posted. Every week, this would be added to so in the long run, it would be an interesting list of music and members. Then possibly, Klipsch could kick in one measly lil set of zebrawood Khorns as a raffle for the names listed once a year. Slainte. "Teacher," became a fan favorite in the U.S. though the band felt it was a throwaway song and Ian wrote it as a B-side. Ian, to date, professes distaste for this tune reflecting disillusionment with formal education, a theme arising in future songwriting as well. The U.K. version on the remastered copy is a very different arrangement with far less flute. Features include a video sequence with "George Castansa's" dad - Jerry Stiller, introducing and starting out the show, and the band doing 20 songs with 2 medleys. Includes some covers of their own personal old favorites like Summertime Blues, The Seeker, Heart Full of Soul and Crossroads. A great drum solo by Peart. Disk 2 has some video interviews and some older recordings of a couple songs. A 2-CD set of the concert is also included with the deluxe version not available any other way. A printed linen backstage pass, autographed picks from Alex and Geddy, even though Geddy does not use one. It's a lot of entertainment for the Rush fan, or may make you one. I always get a couple rolling eyes when I mention my favorite Christmas albums-- A Charlie Brown Christmas with Vince Guaraldi -- amazing melancholy piano jazz with excellent efficient solos--beautiful melodies. The fact it comes from a cartoon doesn't hide that its the best Christmas music out there-- And Elvis' first Christmas Album -- Everyone thinks "Elvis --- yecchh!", but this is so soulful and filled with great songs! I am not an Elvis fan because of most of his dreck that came after his early period, but this I love. Blue Christmas is a knockout--- Don't miss it! Both of Brian Setzers's Christmas albums are a hoot, too. Great brass sound, and his great guitar. Who else would replace "one horse open sleigh" on Jingle Bells, with "a fifty seven Chevrolet"-- !! Finally had a chance to listen to Wish You Were Here at what I'd consider to be reference levels. The dynamics of that song are amazing! Starts off quietly and then when the song really gets going the vocals and guitar are incredible. I have heard this song so many times before. Never heard it as good as I have now. There are many other great songs, Learning to Fly, Money, Comfortably Numb, and many others I had never heard that coincide with Pink Floyd's abnormal side. All the songs must have been remastered, and/or I'm finally listening to them the way they should always have been...on an awesome amp with awesome speakers. It took 3 husbands to finally find one who enjoys being associated with someone like me! Actually Viva Las Vegas, Cheap Sunglasses, Sharp Dressed Man and Legs are what I enjoy most about this cd. And you know, anyone can wrap gifts & bake to regular Christmas music - it takes someone different to do these things differently. Regarding your pick - I still love Honky Cat probably best of anything other than Yellow Brick Road that Elton John released. Good pick!
