I've enjoyed all the "gee golly whiz, look what I got for a nickel" "wow did you see that CD cover" "bet he gets a lot" and the "wow, you know everything there is to know about jazz records Allan" drivel, but where's the place that we talk about caps and resistors and topology and electronic architecture 'n' stuff. I find of the 3-4 forums I frequent only the HT forum is, for the most part, about home theater. I guess it is not "cool" [H] to post general stuff in the general forum. But what the heck. This is a free service and there is lots of good info here, you just have to wade through the crap some of the time. As for the album art I would rather look at Krall covered in a green dress even if the pose is uncomfortable then the baby/apple one. To each his (her) own I guess. Take it up with our fine feathered friend who has been on a role as of late. You could actually search the 2 Channel Archives for many a discussion on caps, irons, SS vs TUBES, SET vs PP, integrateds vs separates, modern vs vintage, wire is wire, DIY vs manufacturer, resistors, topologies, and watch that drama unfold. BRing some popcorn; you'll be amazed at the transformations within this forum if only over a five year period. A note of warning: What someone says and does now sometimes bears little resemblance to what they said and did five years ago. That's a good thing sometimes, yet in this place, it's done without any realization, either by the party or the party-to ....heh. One thing you will NOT see here is the statement, "At one time, I believed in X and Y, touting it without any reservations or a thought to the contrary. Now I believe in V and Z and tout it without any reservation or thought to the contrary." Anyway, this place is an interesting assortment of personalities, foibles, issues, etc, just like any large, extended family, an extended family that is spread out all over and rarely sees one another for better or worse. Hop into the SEARCH box and start typing away at your hearts content. Most of it has been done before and we're all a bit tired and grumpy.... kh ps- By the way, adding interesting music for people to look into is a GOOD THING. After all, it's the music that matters, right? Yes, this isnt a music specific forum, but dont rattle the cage when some good info comes this way. Many times, these posts offer more worth than 1/2 the others combined. PPS - That starting post sure had a sock puppet feel to it though...
