ancientdude
That is way too tempting to let go, I might have to jump on it []
Marvel
Fir? It looks like oak to me. Check out the grain in the close up of the Klipsch logo on the front. Bruce
Z4!
Everett is pretty fir from Chicago...[:S]
Gilbert
Those appear to be in excellent condition. Not too sure about the veneer, poor lighting or something. I'm tempted to agree with Oak only because of the grain structure in 1 photo. But in the others the graining seems to tight to be Oak. Fir?, maybe. Cherry ? Asking price certainly honest. Dylanl
Stained Birch is my guess.
meagain
Not birch. Look at the graining, especially the top. Not cherry either. Fir or Oak.
Neek
meagain wins! They are stained Oak. I've been getting alot of inquiries.
meagain
Actually Marvel got it first. I was more in the Fir camp. I've seen some Fir's that were heavily grained like that. Still - for oak, they seem to have a nice FINE grain. Nice. Neek - Can you ship them to Illinois for free?
meagain
Wait - Label says "KC-BB". Birch.... 'what'? That does NOT look like birch to me. ???? I hate birch. But those are pretty. LOL OK - New winner.
jpm
I live 20 minutes from Everett and I own a pickup truck. Too bad I can't use Khorns for lack of corners and space.
meagain
JPM - You're kidding. Can't you 'make' it work? Gosh - that's almost destiny calling! Um... You're not planning on a driving vacation to Chicago in the near future are you? []
Dylanl
Wait - Label says "KC-BB". Birch.... 'what'? That does NOT look like birch to me. ???? I hate birch. But those are pretty. LOL OK - New winner. Are we sure they are not Birch?? If the label says BB doesn't that mean Birch?
meagain
Owner says Oak. Label says 'BB'. I know of BR, BL, but BB? Is that Baltic Birch? And if so, is that a different type of birch than the paint grade looking birch used on LaScalas, etc? While we're at it, the style 'b' walnut pair on ebay has a label that says 'D' (decorator), birch. LOL
Neek
The speakers are birch painted black as the label indicates 'KCBB'. I had a cabinet maker veneer them with Oak and a professional furniture refinisher stain them and apply the finish. They look great! I'm not a Klipsch expert so I hope I didn't ruin them. meagain
Ahhh!!!! No way did you ruin them. Very pretty! So they didn't sell yet? Wish I was local.
jcmusic
I have a pair 77 k-horns KC-BB and it means black birch #40 black sheen laquer.
Corvette6769
While we're at it, the style 'b' walnut pair on ebay has a label that says 'D' (decorator), birch. LOL I noticed that too. Obviously the label and cabinets pictured do not match. I wonder how hard it would be to add the inset collar, or spacer, between upper and lower cabinets on a pair of Style C cabinets (and the bottom front cove molding). BTW, the pair of KC-BB (Klipschorn Style C Birch Black) auction ended a few minutes ago at the absurd price of $1,475.00.
