garymd
This was an expensive couple weeks for me buying vinyl. Curiosity got the better of me and I just HAD to buy a MFSL UHQR LP. So as not to break the bank, I put in a relatively low snipe for Alan Parson's Project, I Robot. Although I already own the regular MFSL album, I wanted to see just how much better the UHQR sounded. The answer: MUCH better! I've never heard greater detail and clarity on an LP. It's quite amazing. SO much detail on that album you don't hear, even on the regular MFSL copy. Of course I had to crank it up for the first play and as Mr. Parrot always says about MFSL's, they really do boost the EQ on some of these. That goes double for the UHQRs. My ears actually hurt after the first side and that doesn't usually happen on my system. Still, a show-off-the-system LP if I've ever heard one. I don't think I'll buy another unless a great deal comes my way but I had to hear one for myself. The packaging is quite amazing also. jacksonbart
It never cease to amaze me what I don't see on this forum, Am I the only guy here that listens to the Band? I never see any of you even mention one of the alltime greatest bands EVER in rock music. Three great vocalist, multi-talented musicians, one of the Sweetest guitar players ever to grace a stage, a sound that is their own, what more do you want from a band? Listening to their music is like a history lesson, never mind the fact that they play the hell out of their songs, and their songs are stories about life. Anyone has an doubts about the Band, get ahold of The Last Waltz, watch it, that is what the Band is all about. I'm done now, What have I purchased lately: Rory Gallagher; Live the Irish Tour Blues Traveler: Live from Red Rocks Traffic; Live from the Road The Last Waltz is one of my favorite concert films. Sad to think how many are no longer with us. Recently I got: Caddy for Daddy - Hank Mobley All the Road Running - Knopfler/ Harris off of Amazon

The LP looks to never have been played although he graded the cover as VG or VG+. Looks brand new to me. I think I got a good deal, relatively speaking. Buying sealed is worthless to me if I can get a NM copy cheaper. I buy to play, not to resell down the road.

Steve_L
Yes, it is Lucinda Williams Live at Austin City Limits it's great! I wrote it up on here someplace if you can get search to work. She's great on it, the band she has with her is fantastic and they are "on". The Austin City Limits people do a super job recording. Highly recommended. (especially if you like Lucinda.) SCOOTERDOG
I just received my DVD Audio disc "Stupid Dream" by Porcupine Tree. This a remaster and not a new disc. Outstanding recording both in 2ch HiRes and MLP 5.1 Hi res. There is also a DTS 5.1 mix on the disc. The 5.1 recording is done very nice. The cool thing is it also came with the remaster red book cd. If you PT go to their website and you can order it from there.

Rick
Absolutely! One of my all time favorites. I remember when their first album came out in '76. I was 13 years old at the time and it was my favorite album up to that point. Still ranks as one of the best IMO.

RichardP
Here's my "great find" story: in OK, TX, and MS, there is a chain of Wall's Bargain Centers, a company which buys salvaged merchandise from weather or fire damaged stores, overbuys, store closings, etc. Two weeks ago my local Wall's got in about 3000-4000 CDs and DVDs from a tornado-damaged Best Buy somewhere. They are selling them at 40-50% off BB's sticker price. The only drawback? Absolutely no organization; the entire lot is in random order! It is back breaking to crabwalk down the rows trying to see each label in poorly lit shelves. In two visits I have purchased: Crosby & Nash - Another Stoney Evening ('71), DVD-Audio Sting - Sacred Love DVD-A Sting - Brand New Day DVD-A Johg Fogerty - The Long Road Home CD Marshall Tucker Band (1st) CD (kind of a nostalgia whim; I started college in NC in 1973; MT was a staple in the dorms) Marshal Tucker Band - Where We All Belong CD Styx - Greatest Hits CD (I never had any Styx, only heard them on radio; this sounds great) Tool - Anima CD Our Lady Peace - Healthy in Paranoid Times, DualDisc Santana - Abraxas SACD Elton John - Capt. Fantastic SACD Derek Trucks Band - Songlines CD I am sure I will be making more trips to Wall's in the near future.
