wuzzzer
Accept the money order as means of payment but wait at least 7-10 days for it to clear your bank to make sure its legit.
Islander
I'd be very very suspicious. "I'll pay more than you're asking, just send me the difference." is one of the classic scams.
JBryan
I'd be very very suspicious. "I'll pay more than you're asking, just send me the difference." is one of the classic scams. Yep - I've heard of several folks on the net getting scammed under the same premise. The MO is probably counterfeit or doctored so proceed with extreme caution. You can explain to them that because of recent internet scams, you'll have to report the circumstances to the bank when you cash the MO. If they're legit, they will understand, if not, you'll never hear from them again. Better yet...just walk...no, RUN AWAY!
jcmusic
Joe I had a similar offer a while back be very careful, do not fall into the trap of trusting this person. Any time someone wants to you more than the price something is very wrong. Jay
joessportster
my thoughts exactly i responded to the guy that i prefer pay-pal, but would accept postal money orders. any other money orders would require a 10 to 14 day wait for clearing my bank.................... i havent heard any response from him since my email to him Joe
Daddy Dee
Joe, Probably a scammer. I wouldn't mind too much accepting the MO as long as I could hold shipment until it proved to be good. Then if it bounces, turn the guy over to a federal prosecutor.
Guest srobak
Accept postal MO's only - that's what I do. Usually I tell people to open a paypal account.
ScottF
I've had only very good experiences with audiogon. Having said that, it looks like this guy is a total scammer and I suggest you ignore his contact with you completely and wait for a real buyer.
