jeffdbodean
Does anyone know how I would go about buying the Dean G crossover's for my RF7'S that I hear so much about and are they expensive? Thanks for any input, jeffdbodean

alliclaytor
Contact DeanG on the forums. His alias is DeanG and his name is Dean. If you contact him, he will give you instructions as to how to remove and send the units as well as a quote for pricing.
Deang
Jeff and Jordan, check your private messages. Clay, your networks are on the bench -- which is closer to the soldering iron then they were yesterday.

colterphoto1
Hey Jeff, Yes you pull the drivers to disconnect their wires. The network is attachced to the input jack cup. Wiring bundle comes out with that.
jeffdbodean
HEY MAN, are you getting DeanG to upgrade your's to?
falcon20x
I have a RC 7 with the X-over upgraded ( Arky was so kind to let me have it) and one without it. Run side by side, you can really hear the difference between the two. You won't be desapointed with the upgrade. Dean, Do you have a X-over upgrade for the RC 64 center channel? Or planing on doing one anytime soon?
Jordan
You have 2 RC-7's huh? Would you want to trade one for my Adcom GFA-5500 amp? The non DeanG one of course
dachuckster
I had my two RF7s and my RC7 done a few months ago. It was a great investment, you will not be dissapointed.

jeffr
Hello, I am new to these forums, I have a pair of rf83's, and to me they seem very bright and midrangy, I think because the horn is handling mostly all of the mids and highs above 1650(the xover freq). What could I do about making that a little higher and letting the 8" drivers handle a little more midrange? I see talk about an rf-7 mod - Is there anything that anyone knows about modding the rf83s? Who can I contact about doing the mods? Thanks to all, Jeff R
willland
Jeffr, Welcome to the froum. What are you driving those 83's with? Receiver, preamp/amp, integrated? My reason for the questioning is that I don't think I have ever heard the RF-83's described as too bright. My RF-63's are definitely not bright which is due in part to driving them with a NAD/B&K combo. A warmer pream/amp combo has tamed many a Klipsch brightness. Also maybe because of the smaller drivers(6.5 inches) crossing over to the horn at 1700hz. DeanG from the forum may be the best person to address your issues. I don't know of any mods for the 83's but maybe someone has tried it. Bill
jeffr
Hello Bill I have an outlaw 7125 amp with an outlaw 990 processor. They sound great, I was thinking it was because the horn handled almost the entire high end of the spectrum. Klipsch will not give me any specifications on the drivers. It could be the room, also. I had wf-35s in the front prior to this, and they sounded more rounded but with no bass. Not too midrangy, and good and clear on the highs. These rf83s are a great speaker. Lows are awesome, almost want to say that I do not need a subwoofer, but all music/movie content is different. Thanks for the welcome, regards, Jeff R
