Marvel
Ah, Tony, I still drool over that amp. At least I found a pair of Moondogs to assuage my 2A3 desires. Bruce
The Dude
Is it me or is it something about large caps in the power section that just get me going. Thanks for bringing this thread back up, if I ever get my F5Tv2s going I will have to take some pics. Ok these aren't mine, but some Passdiy projects that look great. I keep getting a upload failed anyone know why, maybe I should take it to the forum section.
Heritage house
Why is there gentleman's relish all over the inside of that amp...? Oh, I know why.
NOSValves
JFL 2A3 amp....T Yup some of Jeff's awesome work. I sure do miss that guy. We not only conversed here but also traded many an email back and forth over the years. You have any idea where he is and what he is doing these days? mike stehr
http://magnequest.com/diy_lessard_2a3pp.htm There is a PDF file for the build manual.
Marvel
But the amp Tony has is not the same as the one Jeff has on the Magnequest site. It was a one off. Dr. Jeff Lessard, works in mining exploration, IIRC. I think he moved to Oz for work after he got his Phd. He is not to be confused with another French Canadian of the same name - Jean-François Lessard - a musician. Bruce
NOSValves
Jeff is Dr. Jean-François Lessard you can read about him and his projects at the DIY section of www.magnequest.com he built a number of custom on off amplifier designs usually SET types but also a really neat push pull 2A3. My own personal pair of VRD's are built on a set of Padauk chassis I purchased from Jeff some 10 to 12 years ago. As far as I recall Jeff completed his Doctorate in Quebec and his new career took him to Australia (not sure) at that point he fell off the map. He used to post here regularly under the handle "painful reality"

I figured it was a stereo version of the SETH PP amplifier. Edited November 10, 2013 by mike stehr
