Mighty Favog
I was wondering the same thing. A small frame Smith or the Ruger SP101 series offer the reliability and concealment. Both can be chambered in .357 which certainly offers the punch. The SP101 will weigh more but it's also a helluva lot stronger. Compare the thicknes of the top strap over the cylinder (most revovers' weakest point), you'll see what I mean. Especially compared to any S&W J-Frame. winchester21
I personally dont trust ANY short frame 1911 style. I recently had a kimber pro Carry with a factory Crimson Trace laser. The thing stovepiped even with hardball ammo. The factory said that I needed to fire 500 rounds to break it in. I did not want to have a "well used" pistol with a feeding problem to try and sell so I traded it back in for a Custom combat II. I had a Colt Combat Commander that I spent a small fortune on trying to get right- never happened. I do know people that swear by the Officers models but pesonally if I cant carry a full size kimber. I will go to a HK compact 45 or a Smith titanium 357 wheelgun. The full size Kimber is the best handgun ever IMHO. There is nothing on the palnet that feels/shoots like the 1911 of your choice. I am assuming that the Ultra covert is a 1911 style- not a kimber design action.
HDBRbuilder
Hey Dean...there are THREE weapons designed by Jonathan M. Browning which are still in inventory in the U.S. military, NOT two! You forgot about the Winchester model 1897 open hammer 12 ga. pump shotgun (often called the trench gun). Yep,STILL in inventory after over a century of service!
