  1. It would be great for 2 channel stereo but in HT mode you probably wont want to run the mains off a tube amp and the rest off the AVR. That would be totally different sounds coming from the mains and the rest of the system.
  2. Harman Kardon is the way to go. It's a very nice match with Klipsch and like the previous poster said, they under rate their watts. HK's 50 or 55 watts is more than enough to rock your socks with Klipsch speakers.
  3. Very Nice Ender, I like your room a lot!
  4. I second that. I have my XPA5 driving C, LS,LB,RB,RS and XPA2 driving FL & FR. My surrounds are THX Ultra 2s and Mains are RF/RC7s. There is no need for any more power in my ~3000 sq ft room. It's nuts enough already! Unless you really really want to. ;-) I am running an XPA-2 for my front RF-7s as well and an XPA-5 for my center and surrounds. You will not be thinking about upgrading the amp anytime soon! Emotiva rocks! []
  5. I listen to everything, so right now I guess this is a decent list: Jeremih - Birthday Sex - talk about awesome with RF-7s! Crystal clear vocals with hard hitting bass! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBQ70lA-VTE Jeremih - Hattin' on Me - same reason, his clear vocals and hard hitting bass make an awesome combo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rs_96GEre-4 Jeremih - Imma Star - same thing~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2_h7CFTMyQ Blue October - Amazing - Kings of Leon - Holy Roller Novocaine Kanye West - Love Lockdown http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVZX-W3vo9I&feature=fvst Dead can Dance - How Fortunate the Man with None Kings of Leon - Sex on Fire http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHhhcKxflMY Jason Mraz - I'm Yours
  6. I just bought this CD player a few months ago and love it! After reading the reviews it has beaten several very high end CD players in different shoot outs. http://emotiva.com/erc1.shtm
  7. It's the first I have heard about it so glad you posted it! Good news for sure... love the RF-7s!
  8. I would go with the Emotiva XPA-3 as well. It is the best bang for the buck you can get without buying used.
  9. Funny you mention this because my girlfriend and I were in best Buy tonight buying Blu-rays and we found ourselves in the demo room listening to the speakers thru the same Pioneer Elite I'm sure. The sales guy was trying to push us towards the Martin Logans but after playing them, then the Vienna and then the XF-48s it was very clear that the XF-48s were the top dog in that room. They sounded really good to us. The biggest surprise were the bookshelf speakers though. The XB-10 sounded better than the WB-14 to us. Not sure if it was the way they were setup or what but those little XB-10s were awesome for a pair of tiny little speakers at $499 a pair. As for the Vienna speakers to me they sounded dead. No life at all compared to the Klipsch and Martin Logan. The Def Techs were decent but those XF-48s just sounded so much cleaner and clearer than everything else. I wasn't that pleased with the Klipsch WF-35s though, I really wanted to like them for a bedroom setup but I won't be going that route. I'm going to listen to the RB-81 this week and see how I like those. I don't know about the price on the XF-48s though, for $2400 it seems a bit steep.
  10. Yeah Triple X wasn't good but I like a lot of stuff he has done. Check out Chronicles of Riddick - Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick.
  11. I really like the Emotiva with Klipsch. I have not heard Rotel with Klipsch but I have listened to Rotel with Dynaudio and thought it was a little on the bright side. That could have been room treatments as well though, not sure. It was bright enough that I never considered it when making my choice on seperates though. To me it was between B&K and Emotiva and I went Emotiva due to the awesome price. I have been very pleased. To me Emotiva is one of the best audio bargains out there right now.
  12. True that. I have not heard any Klipsch speakers I couldn't live with. Heck even my Klipsch Ultra 5.1 promedia speakers rock. I have them wall mounted all the way around in my office and people are blown away when I crank it up. The dual 8" woofers kick really good in this room.
  13. Well I hate to do it but I know quite a few people who have UPGRADED from heritage Cornwalls to RF-7s. I have also heard about one time when an employee at Klipsch was doing some testing with a few guys from this forum and couldnt tell the difference between an RF-7 and a Khorn that was playing. So take it all with a grain of salt. I personaly have listened to Herseys, Cornwalls, RF-83s and KLF-30s and would not trade my RF-7s for any of them. So it's all subjective but to say that heritage is better across the board is non-sense and has been proven otherwise on many occasions.
  14. Go for the sub! If your 83s are set to large that XPA-2 will make them bottom out on the right scene if you have it loud enough, like Master and Commander's battle scene for example.
  15. Congrats on the new toy! I can't wait to get one myself. I've been eyeing the epson 6500 and 7500. Hopefully I can get one around August.
  16. I have the XPA-2 powering the front left/right RF-7s and the XPA-5 powering the RC-7 and the other 4 RF-7s as back and side surrounds. Seven channel stereo anyone? [H]
  17. I went with RF-7s as surrounds over RS-7s and I love it. It may be over kill for movies but it's awesome for music and live concert DVDs.
  18. I don't have an XPA-3 but I hear it is the exact same amp as the XPA-5 so it should sound awesome.
  19. I can tell a difference between the XPA-2 and XPA-5 but I doubt you'll hear a difference between the XPA-3 and XPA-5. Get the XPA-3 and you'll be good to go IMO. You should notice a huge difference too when you decide to crank it up.
  20. Well it's all subjective. You would probably love a Yamaha receiver then. To me the HK sounds better than Denon, Onkyo and Yamaha but once again it's all subjective. I have no experience with a Panasonic receiver. If you really like it better then I'm sure that HK will sell very fast.
  21. I went with the XPA-2 and XPA-5 over the MPS-2 because I wanted more slam and more power for HT. I plan to add a Scott 299b or something to the front two towers for 2 channel music when I get the urge. The MPS-2 can't hold a candle to that so it seemed like the right choice. You will get a lot more out of the XPA-3 than you will the UPA IMO.
  22. It was a great year for me. Not sure what was bigger though in '08, getting my 3rd pair of RF-7s or adding 2 new amps, the Emotiva XPA-2 and XPA-5. I think it was the amps, they seem to have made the biggest impact on my system.
  23. Well that depends on your budget I guess. The XPA-2 is an animal. The XPA-5 is more than capable though all by it's self. I needed 7 channels so it was an easy choice for me. Had I only needed 5 channels I probably would have gone with just the XPA-5 to save some money. You should be happy either way.
  24. I am waiting for the UMC to come out by Emotiva. Until then I am using my HK 325 as the preamp for my XPA's. Since I don't have HDMI on the HK I am using an optic out/in for audio from my SonyBDP500. Am I missing out on better sound by not using the analog out/in from the Sony 500? If I use the 5.1 analog out into the HK analog in do I get the audio upconverted by the Sony and passed on to the amps?
